Alexandra Kay is currently on her third headlining tour of the year, and even with the constant travel and long nights, she says it never gets old, thanks to her fans, who she believes deserve far more credit than they usually get from other artists in the business.
The rising star has managed to stay humble throughout her entire fast-moving career, largely because she never loses sight of the people who helped her get here. She explained that her fans’ dedication is what keeps her grounded and grateful, night after night.
“I think that there are a lot of artists in this business, and that’s why I can promise you, I will never have an ego because this is the way that I look at things. There are a lot of artists that are just like, oh, I’m the absolute best. You know what I mean? They have that ego about them, and I think that they kind of give themselves too much credit at times, because honestly, the fans need to get the credit,” she admitted to Country Now.

Kay is also gearing up to send her powerful anthem, “Straight For The Heart,” to country radio next month, once again, she knows exactly who to thank for that.
“If I get added, it’s ‘Straight For The Heart’ gets added to these radio stations, it is because the fans were screaming it so effing loud at the show that the programmer was like, ‘how can we not add this?’”
For the Illinois native, success isn’t measured by chart positions or streaming numbers, it’s in the faces she sees every night in the crowd. Their energy fuels her, and their voices are what push her to constantly take her music to new heights.
“I am very, very open with my fans and letting them know you guys are what’s moving the needle, keep it going,” she explained. “And so yeah, I’m going to give the fans all the credit as long as God gives me the spotlight.”

Seeing fans pack into venues night after night for her shows is what makes Alexandra Kay love touring so much. Plus, she feels “very lucky” to have a great touring family that includes her boyfriend, Rocco, who serves as her music director.
“It’s not like I have to be away from the person that I love. He’s literally in the bunk right across from me. So I think that that’s really amazing. And just every single night I think that I get to experience the growth. And I think that when you’re at home and you’re off the road, sometimes it’s easy to make yourself feel like you’re not progressing. And when you’re on the road, you’re really seeing that progress every night. You’re really hearing the fans scream the songs, and you’re kind of really immersing yourself in the change that you’re making. And I think that’s super, super motivating,” she said.

Kay’s passion for connecting with fans extends beyond the stage. She shared that she makes an extra effort at all of her live shows to do 50 free meet and greets prior to delivering her set. That connection fuels her passion and reminds her why being on the road is so valuable to maintain a successful career.
“So I get to hug them and hold them in my arms and hear their stories, and it’s very, very special,” she admitted. “So this is definitely where I prefer to be for sure.”
Named after her upcoming album, Second Wind: The Tour kicked off at the end of the September and runs through November 16. She is joined by special guests Chase McDaniel, Julia Cole and Logan Crosby on select dates.
Her next project will officially drop Friday, October 24.
