American Idol Alum Josh Gracin Welcomes Sixth Child

Season two American Idol alum Josh Gracin and his wife, Katie are officially parents of two. On January 24, 2024, at 10:33 am, the couple welcomed their second child, a daughter named Madelaine Kate Gracin, who weighed in at 8 lbs 10 oz and 21 inches long. 

Sweet Baby Girl

Taking to Instagram to share the joyous news, Gracin shared a sweet photo of his baby girl swaddled with a matching bow on her head. He introduced the newest member of their family and also let his followers know that everyone is “doing well.”

Katie also made the announcement on her social media feed, using a carousel of images that includes the beautifully captured Madelaine, aka Lainey, as well as snapshots of their family in the hospital. The last photo on the slide found the couple’s 4-year-old son, Luka Roman, looking happy as can be as he stands over his little sister.

“We Absolutely Adore Her”

Her caption read, “We absolutely adore her and Luka is already referring to her as ‘his baby.’ Thank you to Dr. Meyer and the staff at Missouri Baptist for making our experience nothing but amazing and memorable! We are so blessed.”

The new baby joins Luka as well as four children from Gracin’s previous relationship: daughters Isabella Sophia, 14, Gabriella Ann, 16, and Briana Marie, 20, and son Landon Joshua, 17.

To celebrate Luka’s 4th birthday on January 13, Katie shared a few highlights of his life, including the day he was born, her first Mother’s Day, exploring Disney parks, and other happy memories as a family.

“Happy 4th birthday to the most precious boy who made me a mommy 🎉🎂,” she wrote via Instagram. “Your brightness, love, and outgoing spirit make every day special. May your love for Pixar Cars, dinosaurs, and Monster Jam trucks continue to fuel your adventures. We are so proud of you for how incredibly intelligent you are, the way you treat other kids, and your perfectly big heart. You’re going to be the best big brother in just a few days! What a journey this year will be for you. 🥹Mommy and daddy love you so much, Luka Roman. ♥️”

Pregnancy Announcement

The couple announced their second pregnancy in August of 2023 with an adorable Instagram post featuring a photo of Madelaine’s big brother Luka holding up a sonogram image with the words “coming January 2024” written on the framed board. The young boy had a big smile on his face as he helped his parents share the news while standing in front of Cinderella’s castle in Disney World and a pink Mickey ears balloon. 

“I think the new big bro is a little excited!!!,” Gracin wrote in the caption. 

Gracin and Katie have been husband and wife since the day they said “I Do” in May 2017. The pair dated for two years following their initial meeting at Nashville hot spot Tin Roof where Katie, now a graphic designer, worked while she attended college.

“We got to talking and realized we had a lot in common, so I asked her on a date,” he previously told People. “Our motto is that there are no accidents, only reasons. How we found each other and fell in love is the reason we believe and live by that.”

On May 6, 2023, they celebrated their six-year wedding anniversary.

Gracin Appeared On The Second Season Of American Idol

In 2003, Josh Gracin joined the Idol family when he competed on season two of the singing competition and ended up placing fourth. The following year he dropped his self-titled debut album, which spawned hits like “I Want To Live” and “Nothin’ To Lose.” He has since released three more projects along with several singles including 2023’s “You’re On Fire.”

Gracin revealed that more music was on the way when he took to Instagram in December to share a demo of a song that was being recorded this month as part of his forthcoming “Songs For Him Album.”

“This collection of songs will be how we as men see things, how we express them, internalize them etc… It will cover Love, Life and everyday living,” he explained in the post. 

While fans wait for more details surrounding this project, Josh Gracin currently has no scheduled tour dates. He is likely taking some necessary time off to enjoy this new chapter with his family.
