Bailey Zimmerman has unveiled a new song titled “Holding On,” a resilience-fueled anthem driven by his desire to find love strong enough to make it through even the toughest battles.
The multi-platinum country star first debuted the release live at the Grand Ole Opry last month after teasing it on social media and creating a buzz among his fanbase. Today, Oct. 18, Zimmerman shares the full version across all streaming platforms.

The tune, penned by Austin Shawn and Blake Whiten, finds Zimmerman letting vulnerability take the led as he opens up about the personal struggles he’s facing. At the same time, he continues to hold onto the hope that he can be saved from his inner turmoil with the help of a partner who’s willing to put their love to the test.
“There was a time when I had the fight/ And I could’ve made it through one more night/ But I’m losing my mind and can’t find the light/ Then you take my hand and make it alright/ If we have the choice to block out the noise,” Zimmerman sings in the opening verse.
Upon reaching the chorus, he asks, “Will you be strong and keep holding on?/ If this was your last breath, would you waste it on me?/ Stick around when I’m in the dark/ Be the angel that comes down and picks up my heart/ When it’s all wrong, can we be strong?/ And keep holding on/ And keep holding on.”
Bailey Zimmerman takes this message to heart as his gritty vocals belt out the pigment lyrics. He is now encouraging listeners to use this song as motivation to keep fighting until that light at the end of the tunnel finally shines through.
“No matter who you are or where you’re at in life, everybody goes through hard times. I hope this song reminds you guys to keep going when you’re faced with adversity because you never know what tomorrow may have in store for you. KEEP GOING, KEEP HOLDING ON,” Zimmerman stated in a recent press release.
“Holding On” joins his previous 2024 releases, “New To Country,” his contribution to Twisters: The Album, “Hell or High Water” and his latest radio single, “Holy Smokes,” which has already earned over 1.1 million US track equivalents.
Ahead of the song’s release this week, Zimmerman was surprised with a Pandora Billionaire Plaque marking the achievement of over One Billion streams on the platform. It also arrives nearly one month ahead of the 2024 CMA Awards, where Zimmerman is nominated for Best New Artist.

The Louisville, IL native recently wrapped his sold-out, 30+ city international headline trek, RELIGIOUSLY. THE TOUR, where he captivated fans each night with his energy-filled sets.
He will continue showcasing his unique sound and undeniable talent with a slew of major shows coming up this fall. He will once again serve as an opener on Morgan Wallen’s One Night At A Time tour October 19 in Charlotte, NC, before making an appearance at Goldensky Festival in Sacramento, CA on the following day. Also on Zimmerman’s calendar for the remainder of the year are events such as the Concert for Carolina and Audacy’s Stars & Strings, plus many more to come in 2025.
