Bailey Zimmerman’s fans are showing major love for his newly released cover of Miley Cyrus’ 2009 hit, “The Climb.”

The multi-platinum country act first started performing the song during his Different Night Same Rodeo Tour, where it quickly became one of the standout moments of each night. After seeing how strongly fans connected to it both online and in the crowds, he decided to officially release his version of the power ballad that was first recorded by the pop singer/songwriter and shared with the world in Hannah Montana: The Movie, based on the hit Disney Channel television series.

“I haven’t covered many songs in my career but over the last few months of playing this night after night and seeing all the excitement from everyone, not only at the shows but online as well, just made me want to get it out to y’all,” Zimmerman wrote on Instagram.

He also made sure to give credit to Cyrus for making a timeless track that has stood the test of time.

“thank you @mileycyrus for giving us this absolute banger🔥🤘,” the Illinois native added.

Much like the original version, Zimmerman taps into the inspirational message about chasing dreams, pushing through self-doubt, and learning that growth comes from the journey itself. He shows off the impressive range of his gritty and rugged vocals tackling the gentle and stripped-back yet strong chorus.

“There’s always gonna be another mountain/ I’m always gonna wanna make it move/ Always gonna be an uphill battle/ Sometimes I’m gonna have to lose/ Ain’t about how fast I get there/ Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side/ Cause it’s the climb,” he sings as the chorus swells into a full-blown, heartfelt anthem.

After apologizing to fans for making them wait so long for the official release of the cover, the “Just Believe” singer asked his listeners to provide “honest” feedback. Based off the responses, it’s safe to say he did both his and Cryus’ fans proud.

“i thought it was good live… bro you perfected this song😭,” one user wrote.

Another said, “You made Miley and all of us millennials who grew up with her and this song proud, that’s for sure ❤️”

The praise continued:

“I have loved it tbh this might be your best work yet man your perfect for the song”

“It’s been on repeat won’t lie.”

“ITS BEAUTIFUL BAILEY 🥹.”

“This is definitely my fave version of the song 👏👏👏.”

The Different Night Same Rodeo Tour found the country act showcasing his electric high-energy sets across more than 30 venues in the U.S. and Canada. Promoted by Live Nation, the tour features support from rising stars Hudson Westbrook and Blake Whiten.

Zimmerman is also expected to make his way to Europe later this summer with performances scheduled across Glasgow, UK, Dublin, Belfast, Manchester, London, Amsterdam, Hamburg and Stockholm before wrapping in Oslo, Norway on September 12. The European leg will feature support from Chandler Walters.

The current headline trek was named after his sophomore album, Different Night Same Rodeo, which debuted in the Top 15 of Billboard’s Top 200 All Genre chart and Top 3 of Billboard’s Country Albums chart.
