Amy Grant has postponed additional tour dates in the wake of her recent bicycle accident.
Her management revealed that all of Grant’s previously announced tour dates for September and October will be postponed. Her team issued a statement that also included an update on her health.
Grant’s manager, Jennifer Cooke, shared an update on the “Baby, Baby” singer’s condition and explained the reason for the postponement.
“Amy is getting stronger every day. Just as she did after her heart surgery, we are amazed at how fast she heals,” Cooke began to explain. ”However, although she is doing much better, we have made the difficult decision to postpone her fall tour so she can concentrate on her recovery and rebuild her stamina. She wants to be able to give 100% when she tours and, unfortunately, we do not think that will be the case by the time rehearsals would start for the fall dates.”
Cooke continued to share that she will return to the road in November of 2022.
“She will resume touring with her Christmas tour with Michael W. Smith and her annual “Christmas At The Ryman” residency with her husband Vince Gill,” Cooke added. ”Amy would like to extend her gratitude for all the many good wishes and prayers offered since the accident. She feels the impact of the collective good will extended her way. Thank you.”
All concerts originally taking place in September and October of 2022 will be rescheduled to February – April 2023 and tickets will be honored at the new dates. For further updates please visit amygrant.com.
As a result of the incident and on strict “doctor’s orders,” the hitmaker was also forced to postpone all concerts that were scheduled to take place in August, including her shows in Knoxville, Chattanooga, Johnson City and Wilmington. Those concerts will now take place in April and June of 2023.
All tickets purchased will be honored for the newly rescheduled tour dates. There are no other changes to Grant’s touring schedule at this time. Visit Amy Grant’s website for additional information and for her upcoming tour dates.
Grant was hospitalized on July 27 after a bicycle accident in Nashville near the Harpeth Hills Golf Course.
Grant was reportedly wearing a helmet, however, she sustained cuts, lacerations, and bruises in the accident.
Her husband, Country Music Hall of Famer Vince Gill, later revealed that Grant is “doing fine” as well as shared a few new details about the bike accident during the kick-off to his recent four-night residency at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.
“My bride Amy is doing fine,” Gill said (per CMT). He then shared, “[My wife Amy] had a bicycle wreck last Wednesday over in Percy Warner Park, and thank God she was wearing a helmet.”
Gill also shared that Grant was “knocked unconscious for 10 or 15 minutes” as a result of the incident.
