HARDY and his wife, Caleigh, are expecting their first child.
The country star first announced the news this week during a No.1 party for Kenny Chesney’s “Take Her Home,” where he discussed the writing process alongside Hunter Phelps and Zach Abend. HARDY explained that Hunter felt especially close to the idea for the story as it mirrored the point in his life where he was starting a family with his wife and feeling all the same emotions embedded within the song. HARDY then went on to reveal that soon, he and his wife will get to experience taking that next step in their relationship.
“At the time it was really cool for Hunter. I felt like he was very tapped in because of the big payoff in the bridge, which was having the baby girl and being scared to death and taking her home. I will say I think it’s a very cool moment that Hunter was experiencing that last year, and I hope I don’t get in trouble for this, but we’re celebrating the number one party and Caleigh and I are bringing a baby into the world,” HARDY shared with an exclusive group of attendees who kept the news under wraps until the couple decided to formally announce it.
They then shared the excitement publicity on Tuesday, October 15, with post on Caleigh’s Instagram that featured an adorable photoshoot of the parents-to-be in a scenic farm setting. Caleigh is seen holding her belly while wearing a floor-length off the shoulder dress as HARDY poses alongside her in a casual ensemble of blue jeans and a long sleeve. Several of the photos also include the lovebirds holding up a sonogram.
The caption reads, “You have been our favorite little secret to keep 🍼 🙏🏻 Baby Hardy coming February 2025 🤍.”
How Did The Couple Meet?
Their love story began in April of 2018 when HARDY slid into the University of Mississippi alum’s DMs. They started talking about different aspects of their lives and finding common ground within their roots and eventually got to meet for the first time when HARDY was playing a show near her school. Sparks instantly began to fly between the two of them, and Caleigh knew he was the one for her.
“Once we met each other, there really was no one else,” she previously told People. “We never entertained anyone else. It was just so easy.”
“I loved her after the third time that we ever hung out,” HARDY added. “It was the realest thing I had ever experienced. I actually told her I loved her at Stagecoach, out in the crowd.”
HARDY Popped The Question
They dates for several years before the “wait in the truck” singer got down on one knee and proposed in August of 2021 at the same venue where they met for the very first time – the Lyric Theatre in Oxford, Mississippi.
“I’m not her boyfriend anymore,” HARDY wrote alongside a photo he shared on social media at the time. The caption was inspired by lyrics from his song, “Boyfriend,” which appears on his critically acclaimed debut album, A ROCK.
Caleigh also announced the exciting news on her Instagram page with a series of pictures that were taken outside of the live music venue. “We’re getting married!!!” she wrote with an engagement ring emoji.
Stunning Tennessee Wedding Followed By Adventure-Filled Honeymoon
The lovebirds officially tied the knot on Saturday (Oct. 29) surrounded by 350 of their friends and family at Diamond Creek Farms in Nashville, Tennessee. After saying “I do,” the newlyweds jetted off for a romantic honeymoon in Thailand.
“Trip of a lifetime. Blessed to have such an amazing honeymoon with the most amazing person,” HARDY wrote in his post that showcases photos from their adventures, which included meeting elephants, shopping from traditional floating markets, enjoying their meals with a view, and more.
Caleigh has always been a huge supporter of HARDY’s career, making sure to show up for his live shows and walk red carpets as his date for award shows. To show his appreciation for all that she has done, HARDY wrote “SIX FEET UNDER (Caleigh’s Song),” the first true love story he’s written for his other half that appears on his Quit!! Album.
This weekend on Oct. 20-21, HARDY will wrap up his Quit!! Tour with back-to-back shows at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado. Prior to announcing the news of the pregnancy, the country singer revealed that these performances will be recorded for an album that will be dropping in early 2025.
