It’s official – Lainey Wilson is ENGAGED! The country superstar and her longtime boyfriend, Devlin “Duck” Hodges, are getting married.
In an announcement post shared to Wilson’s social media accounts late Wednesday (Feb. 12), she revealed the sweet engagement in a series of photos and videos. These images capture the moment Hodges popped the question and their sweet embrace after she said “yes.”
The caption references her soon-to-be No.1 hit, “4x4xU,” as it simply reads, “4x4xU forever ❤️.”
Wilson and Hodges originally met through mutual friends in Nashville. They dated for quite sometime before going public with their relationship at the 2023 ACM Awards when they walked the red carpet together.
When they first got together, Hodges was playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the “4x4xU” singer was just beginning to see her career take off. Despite both navigating major life changes, they found a way to support each other and grow even stronger together.
“We met at a time where he was still playing with them, but then it all changed,” Wilson recalled in a previous interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music 1. “So it was weird. It was like his life was changing as my life was changing and we were going different directions….”

The radio host pointed out that this must have been “a great test” for the couple’s relationship.
“Yeah, it was wild,” Wilson replied. “You would think that somebody couldn’t handle that.”
The Louisiana native acknowledged that juggling her fast-paced career with a love life hasn’t always been easy, yet somehow, it feels effortless. She also praised Hodges’ unwavering support throughout her “whirlwind” journey, crediting it as a key factor in keeping their relationship strong and thriving.
“I finally found a guy that gives me a run for my money,” she explained. “And he’s my biggest cheerleader. He’s just a good person. And he knows how important chasing down a dream is because even when he was a little boy, football was his life.”

“I mean, it’s not normal,” she added. “We don’t get to see each other as often as some couples do, but we also know that have is very special.”
Late last year, while preparing for her New Year’s Eve performance, Wilson playfully hinted that she was “waiting” for “Duck” to propose. During a conversation with Bunnie XO for CMT, Bunnie XO said she believed the new year would bring a proposal for the pair.
“No pressure, brother! No pressure,” Wilson jokingly responded, before heavily hinting that she is ready for the moment to come. “I might have to propose to him. We waiting!”
Bunnie then assured her, “No, Duck’s gonna do it. I could feel it,” which put a big smile on Wilson’s face as she replied, “I like that.”
“Duck” has consistently been Wilson’s biggest cheerleader and we have no doubt that they will enjoy a long and happy marriage.
