Morgan Wallen shocked fans on Friday evening (Aug. 11) when he took the stage without his signature mullet at the Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.

According to posts from concertgoers, Wallen appeared on stage with a red ballcap and underneath, a freshly shaved head. He also debuted a newly shaved face.

His signature mullet is gone and he addressed the situation shortly after taking the stage.

“Before we get any further… I didn’t like my long hair anymore so I shaved it off,” Wallen told the audience.

The internet exploded with reactions as the news began to spread. It appears fans are divided over Wallen’s new look.

“Morgan Wallen got rid of his mullet and I love that so much,” one fan wrote on Twitter, while others added, “morgan wallen cut his hair 🤩,” “morgan wallen cut his hair I REPEAT MORGAN WALEN CUT HIS HAIR and when i say cut i mean it’s GONE.”

The East Tennessee native’s signature mullet has been a topic of conversation since he first hit the country music scene. The look was derived in honor of his father, Tommy.

“[My dad] had a mullet during their wedding. I just said, ‘Dang, Dad, that looks kinda good — I think I might try it,’” Wallen previously explained, according to Outsider

Morgan Wallen is currently in the midst of the U.S. leg of his record-breaking One Night At A Time World Tour, which kicked off with two sold-out shows at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in April.

The One Night At A Time World Tour marks Wallen’s first-time ever headlining stadiums across the globe for multiple nights. The trek marks one of the largest tours of 2023 and will visit stadiums, arenas, amphitheaters, and festivals across four countries and two continents.

The U.S. leg of the tour began on April 14 with back-to-back nights at Milwaukee’s American Family Field. Produced by Live Nation, Wallen’s 63-show trek will feature support from ERNEST and Bailey Zimmerman on all dates. HARDY and Parker McCollum will also appear on select dates.

In an effort to give back to those in need, Wallen will donate $3 of every ticket sold on the U.S. dates to The Morgan Wallen Foundation. Established in 2021, the foundation supports programs for youth in the areas of sports and music and helping communities in times of crisis – including organizations such as Music Cares, Habitat for Humanity, Mr Holland’s Opus, the Salvation Army, Gibbs High School, and many more.

The tour comes in support of Wallen’s latest album, One Thing At A Time, which has quickly become one of the most popular albums of 2023. The project arrived on March 3 and recently earned a 15th week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. According to Vulture, the album has also claimed the record for the most weeks at No. 1 on the country album chart in over three decades.

One Thing At A Time showcases Wallen’s wide range of musical influences as well as combines his love for country, rock and hip-hop.

The project features 36 tracks, including duets with Eric Church, HARDY and ERNEST. Wallen’s sister Ashlyne also makes an appearance on the project, singing harmonies on the song titled “Outlook.” He also pays tribute to his son, Indigo (Indie) Wilder Wallen, on the project with the tune “Dying Man,” which he often dedicates to Indie during his live concerts.

“This record represents the last few years of my life, the highs and the lows,” Wallen previously shared in a statement. “It also brings together the musical influences that have shaped me as an artist – country, alternative and hip-hop.”
