Carrie Underwood will star in the 2022 show debut for NBC’s Sunday Night Football, premiering on Sunday, September 11 on NBC and Peacock.
The new clip will premiere during the first SNF event of the season when the Dallas Cowboys face off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The “Ghost Story” singer took to social media on Friday (Aug. 5) to announce her return to Sunday Night Football (SNF) with a reflective clip that spans the last decade of her partnership with SNF.
“10 years and we’re still going strong, @snfonnbc!” Underwood wrote alongside the retrospective clip.
Throughout the brief clip, Underwood is seen singing the Sunday Night Football theme song in a studio setting. The video is intertwined with clips that highlight Underwood’s time with primetime’s most-watched show.
Underwood also appears with some of the biggest names in NFL history throughout the clip.
”See you Sunday nights beginning in September! 🏈” Underwood excitedly added.
Sunday Night Football also celebrated Underwood’s return, writing, “We’re getting set to celebrate 10 years of @carrieunderwood and Sunday Night Football. Relive some of the best moments as we get closer to kickoff this fall.”
While fans will have to wait until September 11 to see the new show opening, Underwood celebrated her return with a brand new photo to mark 10 years with SNF.
In the snapshot, the blonde bombshell can be seen sporting a customized diamond white football jersey romper embellished with, you guessed it – rhinestones. The number 10 is bedazzled with purple rhinestones on the front.
Taking things up a notch, the eight-time GRAMMY winner has rhinestone fringe hanging from what appears to be a custom belt.
Underwood recently released her new album, Denim & Rhinestones, and is currently gearing up to hit the road this fall.
Denim & Rhinestones was released on June 10 and features new 12 tracks. Included on the project is her latest single, “Ghost Story,” as well as instant fan favorites like “Crazy Angels,” “Pink Champagne,” and “Velvet Heartbreak.”
This fall, Carrie Underwood will embark on a massive headlining trek, dubbed the Denim & Rhinestones Tour, which kicks off on October 15 in Greenville, South Carolina.
The 43-city trek features Jimmie Allen and will run through March 17, 2023.
Underwood will donate $1 from each ticket sold to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation (t2t.org), which has been helping America’s heroes since 9/11 by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children and by building custom-designed smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. The Foundation is also committed to eradicating veteran homelessness and aiding the victims of major U.S. disasters.
