Carter Faith Shares Tearful Reaction To Earning First CMA Awards Nomination

Carter Faith got emotional today as she reflected on earning her first-ever CMA Award nomination ahead of the 60th Annual CMA Awards.

After the nominations were announced on September 10 on ABC’s Good Morning America and later through a livestream on the CMA’s official YouTube channel, the rising country star took to social media to share her heartfelt reaction.

“Currently crying on a plane rn!!! thank you @cma for this nomination i am having a hard time putting it into words what this means to me,” she began her statement.

As she sat on a plane trying to put her emotions into words, the singer found herself reflecting on just how far she has come since the young girl who once dreamed of becoming a singer.

Although she always had the hope that she would one day turn her dream into reality, she feared her shyness and nervousness to sing in front of a crowd would hold her back. Now, she is celebrating a major career milestone with her first-ever CMA Awards nomination, a moment she says would not have been possible without the support and encouragement of her parents.

“It seemed like the single most terrifying thing i could think of doing (which i know is hilarious looking back now),” she admitted. “It took a lot of belief from other people for me to do it, and because my parents gave me the space to follow my dream, i eventually got the guts to try. so this is not just for me it’s for them too❤️.”

Faith paired her heartfelt statement with a photo from her window seat on the plane, showcasing the tears streaming down her face as she took in the emotional moment.

The North Carolina native’s comment section was filled with support from fans and many of her fellow female country singers like Tigrlily Gold, Carly Pearce, Lainey Wilson, and more.

The winners of each category will be announced during the 60th Annual CMA Awards. Hosted by Lainey Wilson, the star-studded night will air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, November 18, airing from 8–11 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, with the ceremony available to stream the following day on Hulu.
