America’s Got Talent finalist Chapel Hart issued a health update on the trio’s frontwoman, Danica Hart, who recently left the hospital after undergoing vocal cord surgery.
On Friday evening (Oct. 28), an update was shared on the Mississippi group’s social media to let fans know that Danica is recuperating and is home resting.
“Well IG [Instagram] your girl had to have vocal cord surgery and I was nervous about sharing it with everyone… but I felt like y’all have been on this journey with us through the good, bad, & the ugly so I figured we wouldn’t stop now!” Danica shared via the trio’s Instagram. ”I am on the road to recovery and will be updating y’all as I go! Thanks for all the get well gifts, prayers, & good vibes!!! Love y’all! 🙏😁🙌🎊✌️”
Danica also shared her gratitude to the hospital staff for taking such good care of her.
“A special thank you to Dr. Brad LeBert & the staff at Lakeview Hospital in Covington, LA!!!!,” she wrote in a Facebook comment.
Earlier in the day on Friday, Danica shared a clip to Chapel Hart’s Facebook that included a video from her hospital bed where she admitted she was “nervous” as this was her first time having surgery.
In her caption, the Chapel Hart frontwoman revealed that she wanted to share the news of her surgery as the group has always made a point to be open and honest with their fans.
“This video was from yesterday (I’ve already had the surgery) and I was debating about sharing with y’all… but I realize from the very beginning we have ALL been in this together,” she wrote. “The good, the bad, the ugly… and this was no different. I want to bring y’all along this journey with me! I love y’all and I’m asking for prayers for a speedy recovery and to be better than ever before!!!”
While Danica did not elaborate on the kind of surgery she had, her video indicated that the surgery may be related to her vocals.
She closed her post with a message of gratitude to their fans.
“The images from the surgery are pretty gruesome but if you guys would like to see before and after drop a in the comment and I’ll see what I can do! I LOVE YALL SO MUCH AND THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR THE GET WELL GIFTS (I got one in the mail and I didn’t even know they knew I was having surgery ) & LOVE AND PRAYERS,” she added. “Y’all are really really the best Fans, Friends, & Family we could have ever asked for!”
Chapel Hart first rose to fame on America’s Got Talent earlier this year, where they earned a golden buzzer during their audition and recognition from country superstars such as Dolly Parton, Tanya Tucker, Darius Rucker, the late Loretta Lynn and more.
After finishing as a finalist on Season 21 of America’s Got Talent, the group has gone on to achieve several milestones in their career.
Last month, Chapel Hart made their Grand Ole Opry debut alongside Everette, Don Schlitz, Jeannie Seely, Mark Wills, and more. During their debut, the trio earned three standing ovations from the capacity crowd with performances of “You Can Have Him, Jolene,” “American Pride” and more.
Following their Opry debut, the trio signed autographs for their fans at the Nashville Palace. So many fans showed up to meet the family trio that the line extended out of the venue and down McGavock Pike.
The Mississippi trio recently joined country superstar Darius Rucker on a duet called, “Ol’ Church Hymn,” which was released on September 30. The duet will appear on Rucker’s forthcoming new album, which will mark his first solo album since the release of When Was the Last Time in 2017.
Co-penned by Rucker, Ben Hayslip, Josh Miller and Greylan James, “Ol’ Church Hymn” is a soulful ballad and a sweet declaration of love.
“You soothe my soul like an ol’ church hymn / Found in a book in the back of a pew / Born again love I’m a new person / Hand in the air hallelujah / Amen, Amen, Amen / Amen, Amen, Amen / You soothe my soul like an ol’ church hymn,” the trio and Rucker sing on the chorus.
Prior to releasing “Ol’ Church Hymn,” Rucker admitted that he was truly shocked by the trio’s harmonies and songwriting abilities and instantly knew they’d be the best duet partners for the track.
“Like so many people, I was blown away when I saw Chapel Hart’s original response to ‘Jolene,’” Rucker noted. “I was recording ‘Ol’ Church Hymn’ at the time and instantly had this vision of it becoming a duet once I heard their voices. I’m so thankful they said yes to singing on it with me, and I can’t wait to see the huge career they’re going to have.”
Chapel Hart’s Devynn Hart shared that Rucker “really took a chance on us.”
“He saw some of our stuff online and he was like ‘I love what you ladies are doing. I have an idea and I want to hear you guys on this song,’” Devynn added.
Chapel Hart’s next scheduled concert will take place on November 30 in Biloxi, Mississippi at Ground Zero Blues Club Biloxi.
