Chayce Beckham returned to his hometown of Apple Valley, California, earlier this month for a headlining performance at Boots In The Desert.

Ahead of the Season 19 winner of American Idol’s headlining concert, the 26-year-old was surprised by the Town of Apple Valley’s Mayor Pro Tem, Art Bishop, with a proclamation naming the day after him.

Beckham was also honored with “Chayce Beckham Rd,” an official street named in his honor for putting his hometown on the map following his success on Idol.

Beckham took to social media on Sunday evening (June 5) to humbly thank his hometown and share his excitement over the honors he received.

“In my wildest dreams I couldn’t imagine what happened yesterday,” Beckham wrote. ”To get my own day dedicated to me, and to get a road in my hometown named after me, (just like Roy Rogers) I can’t even begin to explain my gratitude, and thanks to my hometown for the love and support they have shown me throughout this journey. I’m truly speechless, humbled and in awe. What a great day. Thank you, @applevalleyca.”

Ahead of the show, the “23” singer opened up about the opportunity to go home during an interview with HD Daily News’ journalist Andrew Caravella.

“I’m really excited to finally get to come home and play for everybody that supported me so much in the High Desert,” Beckham said. ”All the people and everybody who got behind me and carried me through my season and stuff like that. So, I’m really, really fire’d up, it’s going to be a long night of music. I’m going to play as much as I can for everybody. I’m going to play songs that nobody knows, some songs that you guys know, I’m going to play some songs off Idol and yeah, we just look forward to seeing everybody out there and getting to spend some time with you guys.”

The event, which took place at Brewster Sports Park on Saturday (June 4), also featured a performance by fellow Idol alum Hunter Metts.

Chayce Beckham recently released his debut EP, Doin’ It Right. The EP, produced by Ross Copperman, features six tracks, including his latest digital single “Tell Me Twice.” Beckham co-wrote four out of the six songs on the project.

“Since my season on American Idol, I’ve been busy in Nashville writing songs and touring,” Beckham shared in a press release. “I tested these songs in front of live audiences last year, and now I’m so excited to have them recorded and ready for you to listen to. I’m really proud of these songs and I believe they not only tell my story, but they tell stories relatable to everyone going through everyday life.”

Beckham is set to perform at the Westin Nashville on Thursday, June 9. The show is free and will take place at the L27 Rooftop Lounge at 7pm.

He’ll also perform at CMA Fest in Nashville on Friday, June 10 on the Dr. Pepper Amp Stage at 1:15 pm.

Additionally, the country hitmaker will host two meet and greets during CMA Fest, including one in Fan Fair X at Booth #130 (Music Choice) on Thursday (June 9) at 12:00-12:30pm and another on Friday (June 10) at Fan Fair X’s Booth #250 (CMA Meet & Greet Booth) from 2:30-3:00 pm.
