In honor of Memorial Day and our nation’s heroes, Chris Janson has released a brand-new, patriotic track, “This Flag.”

Out now, the song, written by Janson with Josh Phillips, Mitch Oglesby and Michael Wayne Wilkes, honors our nation’s heroes, including “all the ones who left their homes and never made it back” and serves as a powerful reminder of the reasons we stand for our nation’s flag.

The first verse references the Battle of the Bulge, where the flag was “standing proud” during one of World War II’s toughest moments as well as the flag flying “across the Delaware” referring to George Washington’s famous crossing of the Delaware River during the Revolutionary War. And to this day, the flag is “still flying everywhere” reminding the American people of the sacrifices that have been made for our freedom.

“It’s been kicked and it’s been cussed/ It’s been burned out in the street/ But it never would give up/ Cause now it just can’t be beat,” Janson sings.

Later in the song, he urges listeners to set aside their own concerns and reflect on the sacrifices made by the men and women of our military.

“So y’all let’s take a moment, bow our heads and pay respect’ Quit thinking ’bout ourselves, but the ones who served instead,” he urges.

Chris Janson is a longtime supporter of the U.S. military and was inspired to co-write the song while reflecting on the bravery, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication of those who serve.

“I have had the honor of working with several veteran organizations and love supporting our troops. I wrote this song inspired by the work they have done and do to protect the flag and our freedom,” he explained. “My hope is that this song brings more awareness, pride and patriotism to our youngest generation out there. Respecting and standing for the flag, the National Anthem, and showing the upmost respect for the men and women who serve our great country, America.”

Released in conjunction with the new track is official music video for “This Flag,” featuring real-life commentary from U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, respected Navy SEAL and GBRS Group Co-Founder DJ Shipley, and Bass Pro Shops CEO Johnny Morris.
