Chris Janson is back with a fiery new song, “Easy to Love, Harder to Hold.” The track perfectly captures the spirit of a fiercely independent woman who evokes the same kind of charm Janson fell for the moment he met his wife, Kelly.
Written by Janson alongside his other half, Kelly, and Pat Bunch and co-produced by Janson with Michael Wayne Wilkes, the song depicts the kind of woman that he can’t help but fall in love with, despite the fact that she’s nearly impossible to keep in one place.

Listeners are greeted with upbeat country-rock sound driven by electric guitars and a lively rhythm, giving it an infectious feel that matches the woman who lies at the center of the story. Janson leans into that energy with his raw, earnest voice that intertwines desire and determination with vulnerability and confidence.
He sings, “She’s outta sight, she’s outta mind/ She’s livin’ on her own time/ She’s always herself, anywhere she goes/ When she gets bored, she’s out the door/ She’s always wantin’ a little more/ Waitin’ on the next best thing until it comes around.”

The Missouri native reveals this person is always chasing the next adventure, which has led her to be “single and successful.” Even though she continues to slip through his fingers, he can’t help but “need her a little more” every time she’s near.
“She lights up a cigarette just to let it smoke/ She thinks settlin’ down and fallin’ in love and stickin’ around’s a joke/ She’ll get in, but not too deep, she likes standin’ on her own two feet/ When God made her, He sure broke the mold/ She’s easy to love, and she’s harder to hold,” he continues on the chorus.
Speaking to the song’s personal connection to his real-life love story, Jansons shares, “’Easy to Love, Harder to Hold’ is about a free and charismatic girl living her best life! This is exactly how I felt the moment I met my wife, Kelly. We actually wrote this together with the late Pat Bunch.”
Meanwhile, as fans become familiar with the new track, Chris Janson is keeping the momentum going with his current radio hit, “Me & A Beer,” The track has been slowly working its way up the charts and is nearing the Top 20 at Country radio.
Along with the chart success, he’s currently in the midst of his Wild Horses Untamed Tour. The trek aims to bring his chart-topping hits and new music directly to fans across the country.
He kickstarted the 2026 run in Tucson, AZ on January 22 and is gearing up for more dates across Florida, Montana, Tennessee, Connecticut and more.
