Country star Chris Lane and his wife, Lauren Bushnell Lane, are officially a family of four. They announced that their baby boy, Baker Weston, arrived early on Oct. 16 in Nashville, TN.
The proud mom shared a carousel of photos on Instagram that featured memorable moments in the hospital with their newborn as well as a sneak peek into what life at home looks like with her two sons.
In her caption, Lauren revealed the name of their second baby and explained the day of the birth was a “Very chaotic, unplanned and panicked” sequence of events.
“🤍 Baker Weston Lane 🤍 Our little man surprised us 9 days early, late Sunday night. Still laughing thinking about my water breaking (very aggressive, movie like situation) driving myself to the hospital in Chris’ truck (pantsless btw) because my car was out of gas and Dutton was sleeping 😵💫.”
She added, “Very chaotic, unplanned and panicked but the minute he came into this world he’s been nothing but peaceful and perfect. We love you Baker, welcome to the 🌍!”
Lane also took to social media to show the adorable video of their son Dutton walking into the hospital room wearing a “Big Bro” shirt to meet his new sibling for the first time.
His caption read, “Life just got 8 Pounds Sweeter! Family of 4 Now!!”
In the following post, Lane shared a photo of him, his wife, and their new son on their way out of the hospital, ready to bring Baker home. According to PEOPLE, Lauren had to deliver via cesarean section since her son was breech during the final weeks of her pregnancy.
“Glad to be home and resting up thanks for all the prayers and love for our fam! 🙏🏻,” he wrote.
The “Fill Them Boots” singer and former The Bachelor contestant first revealed the news of their second pregnancy exclusively with People on Monday, June 6.
While the couple has previously opened up about expanding their family, they admit that the pregnancy was a shock.
“To be quite honest, I’ve never been more shocked in my entire life, because this was very much an unexpected surprise,” Lauren told People. “We had planned on having at least two kids, so we’re very thankful that it was able to happen for us, even if it wasn’t necessarily on our exact timing. We’re both just incredibly excited.”
Their new addition joins their son Dutton Walker, who arrived in June of 2021. People confirmed the news and reported that Dutton arrived weighing in at 9 lbs. and measuring 19.5 inches long.
“Everyone in the room, including Lauren and me, were shocked we had a 9-pound baby! Not sure where he was hiding in her belly?!” Lane joked with PEOPLE.
“Watching Lauren go through the birthing process – from the beginning to the moment she delivered – was the most incredible thing I’ve ever witnessed,” he added about the birth of his first child. “I experienced an emotion I’ve never felt before.”
Chris Lane and Lauren Lane married in October of 2019. After welcoming Dutton Walker into their family last June, they revealed that his name was inspired by the hit show Yellowstone.
“You can take one guess where we got that from, is from the TV show Yellowstone,” Lane told PopCulture.com and other media outlets in 2021. “And we really love the name a lot.”
While Chris Lane will get to enjoy a bit of downtime at home with his family, he’ll be picking things right back up again on December 1 when he hits the road in support of the Canadian leg of Kane Brown’s Drunk Or Dreaming Tour.
