Chris Young and Kane Brown’s red-hot collaboration, “Famous Friends,” reached the top spot on the country radio chart this week.
Young couldn’t contain his excitement after receiving the news and took to social media to express his gratitude to those who made it happen.
“Finding out you have the number one song in Country Music is such a crazy feeling,” he wrote. “My career started with a #37 #52 #37 in that order. If you had asked me if I ever thought I’d be celebrating my 12th number one… just wow… no words.”
He went on to thank his good friend for joining him on the song and country radio for supporting it.
“Kane Brown so proud to share this one with you brother,” Young shared. “Thank you to anyone reading this, Corey Crowder and Cary Barlowe (my co-writers and CC is my coproducer), and all of Country Radio for sending this one to the top!!!”

“Famous Friends” is also the title track of Young’s forthcoming 14-track album, arriving on August 6.
The album features several of Young’s famous friends, including Brown on “Famous Friends,” Lauren Alaina on the previously released “Town Ain’t Big Enough,” and Mitchell Tenpenny on “At the End of a Bar.” Additionally, the project features background vocals from Sarah Buxton, Hillary Lindsey and Shay Mooney.
“I know I’ve said it before, but I honestly can’t say it enough – I am so excited to be releasing my new album,” Young previously shared in a statement. “There are so many incredibly talented artists, songwriters and producers – all friends of mine – who helped make this album possible. Having friends share their talents as collaborators, songwriters, producers and more, it’s only natural to call the album ‘Famous Friends.’”
Young and Brown teamed up to release the “Famous Friends” music video this spring. Click below to watch.
