Cole Swindell is adding to his growing collection of heartfelt songs with “One Day.”
While there’s no lack of tender tunes in country music, Swindell may have just secured the title of “love song of the summer” with this new release. A wispy display of string instruments dances around the opening lick before soon being joined by the Georgia native’s romantic serenade in a catchy, mid-tempo tone.
He begins by explaining the pressure he felt from his mom to find his other half, but in his mind, that day was still far away. However, that all changed when he walked into a bar on a random Thursday night and caught the eyes of the woman next to him. This unexpected encounter turned into the two of them talking, dancing, and even sharing a kiss.
“My one day looks like brown eyes, brown hair, plaid skirt, tall boots, skinny margarita in a dive bar booth/ Sounds like ‘oh my god, I love this song’/ Got me like, ‘I do too’/ One day was way down the line/ I was really gonna take my time/ But one look, one dance, one kiss one day changed my mind/ I think I met my one day last night,” he sings on the chorus.
In the next verse, the country star details the emotions he was feeling the next day when he realized he’s “got it bad” because she was constantly on his mind and had him picturing a future together.
“One Day” follows his previous affection-filled anthems “Forever To Me” and “3 Feet Tall,” both of which were inspired by his personal love story with his now wife, Courtney Little.
In a recent post on Instagram, his other half declared the song to be her new “fav.”
The pair tied the knot on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, in an intimate ceremony set in the sunny setting of Sonoma, California surrounded by family and friends.

The lovebirds confirmed the celebratory news in a joint Instagram post that also debuted Courtney’s updated Instagram handle featuring her new last name – Courtneylswindell.
“The Swindells 6.12.24 🤍” they wrote alongside a slideshow of serene photos from their big day that were captured by Madison Emily Hare Photo.
Following their California ceremony, the Swindell’s jetted off to their honeymoon in Turks and Caicos and later hosted a surprise wedding reception on a European-inspired farm outside of Nashville, where they got to celebrate with around 250 guests.
“It’s hard to put into words how special [the reception] was,” Swindell told Brides of the extended party. “Having family and friends in town to celebrate our marriage is something we’ll always cherish.”
“We loved the intimacy of a private ceremony with only our close family, but also wanted to celebrate with our favorite people,” Courtney added. “It was a dream to have a wedding, depart for our honeymoon, and then come back to Nashville to celebrate with everyone!”
Swindell’s latest batch of song releases offers the first glimpse into his upcoming, yet-to-be-announced album, which will follow his wildly successful Stereotype album.
While fans anticipate his next project, they can find Cole Swindell on the road for his current headline Win The Night Tour. This trek, produced by Live Nation, kicked off May 16 in London, ON, CANADA and runs through July.
