Pam Tillis hilariously recreated the cover of Lainey Wilson’s CMA Album of the Year winning Bell Bottom Country and coined her own term: “Mom Jean Country.”
Tillis, 66, stumbled across a dated photo of herself posting in a hat, similar in style to the hats often worn by Wilson, and a pair of straight-leg, high-waisted mom jeans. The “Maybe It Was Memphis” singer used the opportunity to reimagine the cover of Wilson’s latest album. After a little Photoshop work, the project was complete.
“Found this old picture in my scrapbook and it made me chuckle. If Lainey can build a brand around pants, I thought I’d try and recycle these! How did I do @laineywilson? 😂,” Tillis captioned her Instagram post.
Wilson Responds
Wilson, who appeared to get a chuckle out of it, was quick to respond. “I’m all for it 😂,” she commented.
The Mom Jean Country play on WIlson’s Bell Bottom Country was a hit on social media. It drew a response not only from Wilson, but several other artists as well, including Caitlyn Smith, Charley Reynolds, Erin Enderlin, Billy Gilman, and more.
One Instagram user wrote, “@pamtillis you know…The First time I saw @laineywilson she reminded me so much of you…her talent, great sense of style, fashion, hats, talent.. oh and you both have the best southern accents! just bad ass!!🎶❤️”
