Dan + Shay reached a new career milestone this week as their latest single, “Save Me The Trouble” reached the No.1 spot at country radio.

The duo’s Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney shared their excitement over the news on social media in a heartfelt post, thanking country radio and the fans for supporting them along the way.

How Many Number Ones Does Dan + Shay Have?

“SAVE ME THE TROUBLE is officially our 10th #1 at country radio! We couldn’t think of a better way to kick off 2024 and the BIGGER HOUSES album cycle,” the duo began. “Huge thank you to all the stations who played the song and our fans for continuing to believe in the music. In this season of immense gratitude, seeing our name at the top of the chart means more than ever. Can’t wait to celebrate with everyone on the road this year, and here’s to the next one!”

Later, Smyers shared a reflective comment on the post, admitting that the idea of having 10 chart-topping singles is still mind-blowing to him.

“If you would have told me 10 years ago that we would have ONE #1, I would have said you were crazy, but now y’all have given us 10 #1s and we are truly so grateful,” he wrote. “It’s not lost on us how difficult it is to have a song reach the top of the chart, so we promise to never take a single second of it for granted. Thank y’all for absolutely everything, we are the luckiest guys in the world.”

A Running Start At Country Radio

Upon its release on July 17, 2023, “Save Me The Trouble” made a remarkable entrance to country radio. With an outstanding 134 adds, it secured the highest Country Aircheck debut since July 2022, signifying the duo’s most substantial add day in their career.

“Save Me The Trouble” was co-produced by Scott Hendricks alongside Smyers, who also served as a co-writer with Mooney as well as Ashley Corley, Jordan Minton, and Jordon Reynolds.

The track, which the duo performed during the 57th Annual CMA Awards in November of 2023, appears on Dan + Shay’s fifth studio album, Bigger Houses. That project arrived on September 15, 2023.
