Dan + Shay has just been named Duo of the Year at the 2020 ACM Awards.

The duo’s Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney were on hand at the Grand Ole Opry House to receive the trophy during The 55th Academy of Country Music Awards on Wednesday (Sept. 16).

“What a great way to start off the night,” Smyers said when accepting the trophy from Clint Black and Lisa Hartman.

The duo went on to thank their wives, the Academy of Country Music and fans.

“Thank you guys for continuing to support us and make our dreams come true,” Smyer shared.

Also nominated for ACM Duo of the Year were Brooks & Dunn, Brothers Osborne, Florida Georgia Line, Maddie & Tae.

The 55th Academy of Country Music Awards also featured performances from Jimmie Allen, Kelsea Ballerini, Gabby Barrett, Kane Brown, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Dan + Shay, Keith featuring P!nk, Florida Georgia Line, Riley Green, Mickey Guyton, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Maren Morris, Old Dominion, Thomas Rhett featuring Jon Pardi, Blake Shelton with Gwen Stefani, Taylor Swift, Tenille Townes, Carrie Underwood, Morgan Wallen and Trisha Yearwood.

The 2020 ACM Awards took place in Music City for the first time ever. The three-hour show broadcasted from three iconic venues: Grand Ole Opry House, Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium and The Bluebird Cafe.

The reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year and 15-time ACM Award-winner, Urban also hosted the star-studded event, which broadcasted on Wednesday, September 16 (live 8:00-11:00 PM ET/delayed PT) on CBS Television Network, and streamed live and on-demand on CBS All Access.
