The pop-country superstar took to Instagram stories on Thursday morning (Oct. 27) to respond to the comments about his noticeable weight loss after sharing several new photos with his son.

“Life gets better everyday, ❤️” he captioned the photo.

His post garnered support from fans and fellow artists.

He later took to his Instagram stories to thank everyone for their support.

“Thank you guys so much for all your kind words about me lookin healthy. Really means a lot,” Mooney wrote.

He went on to share more details about his lifestyle change that allowed him to drop a significant amount of weight.

“Been a little over 5 months I believe and I’m down almost 50lbs,” Mooney added.

Mooney then explained how he lost the weight.

“For those asking: Eating clean/not drinking alcohol and walking 7 miles a day. And some weights. That’s it!” he shared. ”I completely changed my lifestyle and I’ve literally never felt better physically, mentally, and spiritually. If you’re lookin for a sign… – Love y’all.”

Shay Mooney and his wife Hannah are currently awaiting the arrival of their third child. They revealed the news in August and also shared that they’re expecting another boy.

Their announcement post featured them telling their youngest sons that they were going to be big brothers.

Asher, 5, appeared to be a bit upset that he wasn’t going to get a sister this time around but he handled the news well.

“Do you remember when mommy told you they were going to call us this week and tell us if we’re having a boy or girl? Do you think you’re going to have a baby brother or a baby sister?,” Hannah asks him in the video clip.

“I wanted a baby sister, so it’s a baby sister,” Asher quickly replies.

“Okay, will you be sad if it’s a boy?,” Hannah questions.

Without hesitation, Asher says, “Yes, because I want a sister.”

Trying to let him down easy, the soon-to-be mother of three says, “Well, baby, it’s gonna be another baby brother.”

“I wanted a sister,” he responds.

The clip goes on to show Hannah telling Ames, 2, the news. He was more receptive.

While the 2-year-old predicted it was a baby sister, he seemed to be excited to hear the news as he sweetly touched his mom’s belly to say hello to his baby brother.

After meeting through social media, Shay and Hannah immediately connected and began dating. Mooney proposed on August 9, 2016. In the midst of wedding planning, the couple learned they were expecting their first child, Asher James.

After welcoming him on January 24, 2017, Shay and Hannah tied the knot on Mooney’s family farm on October 20, 2017. Asher, who was 9 months old at the time, took part in the ceremony as did Dan Smyers, Mooney’s musical partner.

They later welcomed Ames Alexander on February 21, 2020.

Dan + Shay are currently up for Vocal Duo Of The Year at the 2022 CMA Awards, which will take place at Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, November 9. The show will air live on ABC at 8/7c.
