Dolly Parton performed her iconic hit “9 to 5” during NBC’s two-hour special, Grand Ole Opry: 95 Years of Country Music, on Sunday, February 14.
The international superstar and longtime Opry member dazzled the crowd with an energy-filled performance of the GRAMMY-winning hit.
“When they asked if I wanted to become a member in 1969, that was one of the biggest nights of my life. It was sacred to me. It truly was,” Parton shared prior to her performance.
Parton‘s performance was taped on October 12, 2019 when she celebrated 50 years as a Grand Ole Opry member.
“9 to 5” appears on Parton’s 1980 album, 9 to 5 and Odd Jobs. The singer recently released a new rendition of the track called “5 to 9” for a Super Bowl LV commercial for Squarespace.
Grand Ole Opry: 95 Years of Country Music also featured performances from Trisha Yearwood, Dierks Bentley, Garth Brooks, Kelsea Ballerini, Little Big Town, Little Big Town, Old Crow Medicine Show, Lady A, Brad Paisley, Kane Brown, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton, Marty Stuart and Carrie Underwood.
The show also gave fans a look back at some of the most iconic performances in Opry history and showcased archived Opry interview and performance footage from today’s Opry members and legendary artists.
Additionally, the two-hour special also included star-studded collaborations from Darius Rucker featuring Old Crow Medicine Show, Carrie Underwood with Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley and Marty Stuart, Vince Gill featuring Reba McEntire and more.
Hosted by Brad Paisley and Blake Shelton, Grand Ole Opry: 95 Years of Country Music aired on Sunday, February 14 at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
