Surprise – Elle King is pregnant and expecting her second son with Dan Tooker.
The singer surprised fans with the news on social media early Monday when she shared a gender reveal video with the caption: “doubling down” alongside a blue heart emoji.
The clip, which appears to have been captured while backstage at Billy Bob’s Texas, shows King and Tooker, along with their 3-year-old son, Lucky, participating in an exciting gender reveal as balloons pop to show blue confetti falling from the ceiling. Above them is a sign that reads “twinkle, twinkle little star how I wonder what you are?”
When the news is announced, King and Tooker are shown shouting with excitement, and King seems to become emotional as she realizes she will soon welcome another baby boy into the world.
In a recent interview with People, King revealed that the pair reconciled after spending some time apart.
“We’re back together,” King, 35, told PEOPLE exclusively.
King and Tooker originally met in 2019 when she stopped by his tattoo shop to get new ink. They hit it off, got engaged in October of 2020 and welcomed Lucky into the world on September 1, 2021. However, in April 2023, King confirmed that they had broken up.
“We had to grow,” King told People. “I don’t know. I’ll try anything twice.”
The GRAMMY nominee told the publication that they ultimately decided to give their relationship another go for their son.

“He’s definitely brought me and his dad back together just because, what are we doing?” King said. “We have everything that both of us have ever wanted right here. Let’s put our weapons down. Come on. This is it. This is life. It doesn’t get better than this. This is worth trying. This is worth wiping a slate clean. This is worth all the effort in the world. My family, this is what deserves all the energy and effort.”
King also shared that they are embarking on a new chapter in their relationship by purchasing a home just outside of Music City.
“We’re starting fresh. We just bought a really gorgeous new house in the mountains of Nashville,” she revealed. “It’s happy, it’s beautiful. I’m very happy, I’m very content, which is nice, and I don’t know if I’ve ever really felt that, so it’s a blessing.”

The news comes just after King released her new single, “High Road.” Out now, the song delves into the contradictions of life, the choices we make, and the hazy path to self-discovery.
‘“High Road’ is a nod to the classic country that I’ve loved,” King shared in a statement. “When I come out on the stage of life, I want to be my truest and utmost self, and I want to release music that makes me happy, that I love to sing and music that acknowledges the things that have inspired me, like Willie Nelson and Highwaymen. I wrote this song last year and it’s funny how the lyrics have played out over this year.”
King is in the midst of her Baby Daddy’s Weekend Tour, which kicked off in Biloxi, Mississippi last month. The tour will continue through November 17 when it’s set to wrap up in Evansville, Indiana.
