Rising country singer-songwriter Ethan Payne recently released his brand new single “Make A Scene.” Now, he is sharing the accompanying video for the track in this Country Now exclusive premiere.

Shot on a large, 400-acre property in Payne’s hometown of Macon, GA, this clip follows the young talent’s journey as he experiences falling in love for the very first time. Viewers catch glimpses of him enjoying special moments with his fictional love interest. They take a drive through the countryside, sit beside each other on a swing overlooking a lake, and eventually slow dance with each other in the pouring rain. Select scenes also showcase Payne belting out the lyrics to his song while jamming on his acoustic guitar.

“It don’t matter what road we’re ridin’/ Knowing us there ain’t no arriving / Catching every little red light kiss / Make sure we ain’t hard to miss, yeah,” Payne sings during the sing-along chorus. “So go ahead and let the windows down / Let’s give ’em something they can talk about / You in that seat killin’ in them jeans / Stealin’ my hat, baby knows how to make a scene.

Fittingly enough, the female who plays Payne’s love interest in the video shares a similar backstory to the rising star. Fans may recall, Payne was diagnosed at the age of 18 months with Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic disease that primarily affects the lungs. Despite his condition, he has continuously inspired others by pushing toward his dreams. Callie is also a Make-A-Wish kid and a cancer survivor.

Payne opened up about his co-star for “Make A Scene” telling Country Now, ”It meant so much to me, not only because of the cancer situation but [Callie] has been a really good friend of ours forever. I promised her two years ago that when I shot a music video, she’d be my first choice!”

“Make-A-Wish is beyond incredible in every way. They change kids’ lives like mine and Callie’s every day, and I’m so happy to be a part of such a great organization,” he added.

As for the current track, Payne said, “‘Make A Scene’ was written about a particular girl in my life that I had a crush on at the time. My favorite line in the song is ‘catching every little red light kiss, making sure we ain’t hard to miss.’ I feel like those lines paint a perfect picture of a 17-year-old falling in love with his crush.”

Payne co-penned “Make A Scene” with his good friend and co-writer Trey Teem. The tune follows his recent single, “Luke’s Guitar,” which was inspired by his idol and mentor Luke Bryan. The country superstar and American Idol judge gifted Payne an acoustic guitar after the two met and shared the stage in Dallas, Texas, as part of Payne’s wish through the Make-A-Wish foundation.

“Make A Scene” is expected to be included on Payne’s upcoming album, due out at a later date. Click above to watch the music video for “Make A Scene.”
