Award-winning singer/songwriter Steven Lee Olsen trades the hustle and bustle of the city for a laidback country getaway in his new music video for “Hello Country,” premiering exclusively on Country Now.
The weekend-ready anthem finds Olsen escaping the city and celebrating the weekend with a trip to the place he feels most at home – the country.
“Goodbye city, hello country/ I’ve been thinking about saying that all week/ little down home with the stars up above me/ my kind way to unwind/ My life’s a little better with some dirt on it/ sure sounds like a soul-saving cure don’t it/ I’ll be fishing in the dark nitty gritty/ Goodbye city, hello, hello, hello country,” he sings throughout the chorus.
“This new song was definitely a fun one to write,” shares Olsen, who co-wrote “Hello Country” with Brock Berryhill and Parker Welling. “It’s a feel-good, summer song. We basically wanted to recreate the feeling of leaving the city on a long road trip and heading out to the country where everything is beautiful and you feel really small.”
The nearly three-minute clip was shot mostly while Olsen was on tour with Billy Currington. The music video features clips of his energetic live show intertwined with shots of Olsen driving down the interstate headed for his countryside retreat.

Steven Lee Olsen continues to build his solo career while making a name for himself as an esteemed songwriter. Olsen co-wrote “Blue Ain’t Your Color,” a chart-topping single, 2017 NSAI Song of the Year and double-platinum hit, for superstar Keith Urban. He also penned Kip Moore’s massive hit “More Girls Like You” and garnered cuts from artists such as Garth Brooks, Craig Morgan and The Judds (among others).
