First Christian Radio Single

Ahead of the event, Barrett walked the red carpet with her husband, Cade Foehner, in tow and spoke about her new Christian radio single.

“Tonight is the night that we tell everybody that I do have my first Christian single coming out. It’s called ‘Jesus on a Train,’” she shared in an interview with The Christian Beat.

“Jesus on a Train” is featured on Barrett’s latest album, Chapter & Verse, and was written by Barrett with Ross Copperman, Shane McAnally, and Josh Osborne.

Balancing Her Career As Both A Country and Christian Aritst

During the conversation, Barrett revealed that the song will officially be serviced to Christian radio on October 14th and elaborated on balancing her roles as both a country and Christian artist.

“I don’t know exactly what it looks like for me. I mean, I think Anne Wilson’s a good example of kind of balancing that seesaw of country and Christian, and I’ve been in country music for six, seven years now, and I love it so much. I fell in love with country music, but being a Christian is my identity. My identity is in Jesus. And so that changes everything,” Barrett stated. “My music, the way that I live, what I talk about.”

Barrett explained how she and her husband weave their faith into their performances and mentioned that attending the Dove Awards feels like a natural fit for them.

“Me and my husband, we do it together. We would literally stop in the middle of our shows the past couple of years, and he would do a short one to two minute gospel message to people at our shows,” she explained. “And so we love the Lord so much, and so it feels only organic to be here and be involved with the music and the awesome people here too.”

5th Wedding Anniversary

Barrett’s Dove Awards appearance came just days before she and her husband Cade Foehner celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary. In a social media post recpaping their night at the event, Barrett shared a sweet anniversary message for Foehner.

“HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to my ride or die. @cadefoehner 5 years of marriage blew by! Thank you for loving me in my weakness and strengths. What a refining tool it is. I love you and pray God blesses you! Onto more,” she wrote.

She also reflected on attending the show, writing, “Pretty neat going to an award show that is filled with others who LOVE JESUS!”

On Tour Now

Barrett is currently on the road and has shows planned through mid-November. Her next appearance is scheduled for October 11 at the Shooting Star Casino and Hotel in Mahnomen, MN.

A complete list of upcoming tour dates can be viewed on her official website.
