Gabby Barrett is just days away from making her headline debut in Nashville, a moment she has been dreaming of moving to the city five years ago. To make this milestone even more meaningful, the American Idol alum has pledged to donate proceeds to Murphslife Foundation.

Her GIVING FOR GOOD SHOW will be held at the CMA Theater inside the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum on November 13. Those who purchase tickets will have a part in supporting the non-profit organization, which was founded by Aaron Murphy in 2020.

“I’m so excited. I’ve lived in Nashville for the past five years and just appreciate the warm hug that I’ve gotten from the folks here. It feels more like a family. And so I’m excited to be able to perform here for everybody and hopefully put on a good show and for a good cause. So, it’s an exciting time for me for sure,” Gabby Barrett told Country Now

Barrett Reveals She Was ‘Moved’ By The Generosity

The songstress went on to discuss why the Murphslife Foundation was her charity of choice for this special event. She explained she came across Murphy’s generous work while scrolling on her explorer page on Instagram and was instantly touched by the amount of people from all over the world coming together to help make an impact on poverty-stricken families.

“It was kind of like a random thing one day. It moved me when I watched it. From the second I started watching it, I was plugged in. I think it’s beautiful,” Gabby Barrett explained. “He’s built this huge social media presence from everybody’s donations around the world, and he shows what everybody’s donations do for other people. I love that he doesn’t really center the social media on him like, ‘Oh, look at me and what I’m doing for people.’ But he always puts it back on the people that are donating, which I find really genuine and really kind.”

She went on to recall a particular video that struck a chord with her as it showcased people who were forced to sleep on the ground because they didn’t have proper homes and were struggling to even get by. Then Murphy came into their lives and helped them get furniture, groceries, and various items to make a house feel like a home on top of providing them with the steps needed to start their own businesses.

“He’ll buy whatever, a food truck or this or that so that they’re supplied with a better job and can make a better income for their family. So it’s really beautiful what he does,” the Pennsylvania native shared. “And so we’re really thankful to be able to donate to them this year. I was really moved by them and I’m just excited to do that and give to those people that really need it, especially in the El Salvador area.”

What To Expect From The ‘Giving For Good’ Show Setlist

Those who plan to attend Barrett’s GIVING FOR GOOD SHOW can expect a full band with a setlist featuring a mix of songs off her newest album, Chapter & Verse, as well as some fan favorites and maybe even a few tracks off her just-released Christmas album, Carols and Candlelight. Plus, Rachel Purcell will serve as a special guest.

“This year we’ve been performing a lot of my new album that I released earlier in the year, Chapter & Verse, and that’s been so much fun getting to perform those new songs for everybody and just see what everybody’s enjoying. So, it’ll be a variety for sure of new stuff, there’ll be some fan-favorite songs, there’s a fun cover or two that we throw in there. And you never know, because it is close to the holiday season…there probably will be some type of fun Christmas song involved.”

She even teased that her and her husband, Cade Foehner, will deliver an intimate “sit around the campfire” kind of moment in the midst of the show that allows them to strip things back and play whatever they are feeling in that moment.

“We can add or take out or do whatever and so that’s fun to try to make it different on different shows. So we may add a holiday song, I don’t know. We’ll see what happens, but it’ll be fun.”

About The Murphslife Foundation

At the start of the 2020 pandemic, Murphy found himself stuck in a border town of Ecuador with only $200 to his name. Although he was facing financial struggles himself, he chose to give what he had left to a family who was less fortunate than him. He didn’t just offer the family money, but he helped them build a business by purchasing a hotdog stand and showing them how to operate it and create a steady income. This generous gesture quickly gained traction on social media and began inspiring people from all over the world to donate.

He soon realized how much of an impact he could make by creating a foundation that focuses on generational poverty and empowering both individuals and communities to build a better future for themselves. By using social media to bring more attention to the cause, over $10 million has been donated and more than 1000 families have been lifted from poverty as a result.
