2020 is going to be Gabby Barrett‘s year!
Less than two months into the new year, the powerhouse vocalist is turning heads and climbing the charts with her debut single, “I Hope.” Already amassing 200 million on-demand streams and making her way into the Top 15 at country radio, Barrett continues to break down barriers.
But her success didn’t come overnight. After appearing on American Idol and landing in the Top 3, Barrett had to prove herself to get a record deal.
“I came off the show, and zero labels were trying to grab at me. At all. I mean, none,” she previously told Country Now. “I was like, ‘Okay, I’m gonna stick my nose to the ground and really focus on writing songs, and hopefully get one that’s good. And we got ‘I Hope’ out of it.”
Now signed to Warner Music Nashville, Barrett continues to hone in on her songwriting skills while crafting her upcoming debut album.
Later this year, Barrett will join country superstar Brad Paisley on his 2020 World Tour. She calls it a “dream come true.” She’ll also be performing at various festivals, including Country Jam, Stagecoach and Tortuga Music Festival, throughout the year.
Before her 2020 tour schedule kicks into high gear, the singer/songwriter sat down with Country Now for our “What’s In My Bag” segment. From chewing gum for fresh breath to ALL the lip products, watch the clip above to find out what the “I Hope” singer carries with her on a daily basis.
