Rising country act Gavin Adcock was back in court this week, nearly three months after his May 21 arrest for reckless driving and violating Tennessee’s open container laws just outside of Nashville. Records from the Tennessee Highway Patrol at the time revealed he was taken into custody at 11:15 PM and released on a $1,000 bond at 4:34 AM on Thursday, May 22.

The 26-year-old took to social media shortly after his release to explain that he was pulled over for speeding in his newly restored 1973 Dodge Challenger. The post featured a close-up of his mug shot on the first slide and an image of his vehicle on the next.

“I bought my dream car.. a 1973 Dodge Challenger,” he wrote. “Over the past few months I’ve been putting money into it, getting it running as good as new, and decided I wanted to take it for a joy ride. The car ran great. I got pulled over and arrested for reckless driving going 103 in Wilson County, TN.”

On Monday morning (Aug. 18), Adcock let fans know that he was heading to court for the incident when he posted a selfie in front of the Wilson Country Criminal Justice Center.

“All I know is it always works out,” he wrote in the caption.

Newly released Wilson County, Tennessee court records indicate that his message appeared to be true as both the misdemeanor reckless driving and open container charges were dismissed, along with his traffic citations for having an invalid license. In the end, Gavin Adcock only pled guilty to a speeding ticket.

Before fans learned that the charges had been dropped, the Watkinsville, Georgia native sparked a wave of concern when he posted a cryptic TikTok after his hearing, indicating that he might be serving some time.

“Well I just got out of court, going away for some time. At least I dropped this album last Friday so y’all can listen to it while I’m gone.”

He then clarified in the caption that he wasn’t actually doing time behind bars, but he was celebrating the release of his third album, Own Worst Enemy. In a follow-up video, he set the record straight saying, “I am not going to jail.” Adcock then stated that instead, he would be signing vinyls at a Walmart in Franklin, TN tonight at 6PM CT.

Featured on his newest album is the track “Morning Bail,” which he decided to release after his initial arrest in May. At the time he shared the song had been written long before the incident, he felt it would be a fitting story to share under the circumstances.

“I wrote this song a few months back and planned to put it out on the album, but I figured there’s no better time than now,” he added.

To go along with the release, Adcock also dropped “Morning Bail” T-shirts featuring his mug shot.

With this latest update, the rowdy country act is officially staying out of jail and can continue his headlining Need To Tour, with stops scheduled through December. Additionally, he’s serving as an opening act on select dates of Morgan Wallen’s I’m The Problem tour.
