HARDY is starting the week off on a high note with the release of three new tracks – “here lies country music,” “the mockingbird & THE CROW,” and “TRUCK BED.” These songs with a variety of unique features are set to be included on his highly anticipated sophomore project, the mockingbird & THE CROW, which is due January 20, 2023 via Big Loud Records.

On Sunday night (Oct. 9), the singer jumped on social media to deliver the unexpected news to his listeners. Before he got to the exciting announcement, HARDY gave a health update, sharing that he is “feeling a lot better” after a recent accident on his tour bus that occurred after a show on Oct. 2.

“Still a little bit banged up, but man, definitely on the upswing, and everybody in the accident is also on the upswing. Thank you for all of your prayers. It’s been a rough few days, but everybody’s doing great,” he said referring to his tour manager, Noah Brown, photographer, Tanner Gallagher, and bus driver, Ricky, who were all involved in the scary event.

Even through the difficult time, HARDY is still thinking of his fans and revealed that he wants to keep things on track.

“I’ve been going back and forth on, you know, I have a lot of big announcements I wanna make, things that I wanna post and things I wanna, you know, announce, and I was kind of wondering if I should push some of that to down the road. But I’ve talked to everybody and everybody’s like, ‘Man, let’s keep the train rolling.’ And so I would love to officially announce that tonight, Sunday night, tonight at 11:00 PM Central and at 12 Eastern, I’ve got three brand new songs that are dropping.”

He explained that no one has ever heard these songs before and because of that, he is very excited to have them out in the world.

“I can’t wait. I can’t wait for y’all to hear ’em. I can’t wait to see what you guys think about the different songs,” he said before concluding the video.

These three songs are the beginning of the next chapter of his career as they expand on HARDY’s core values while also taking a walk on the wild side and venturing into a new reality. The project will also include his current Top 35 single “wait in the truck” feat. Lainey Wilson and recently-released rock single “JACK.”

The title track serves as the transition from the mockingbird to THE CROW as it hones in on the project’s roots and creates a steady balance between HARDY’s talents in country and rock. “TRUCK BED” speeds things up with its addictive, hard-hitting energy and compelling whistle tones embedded in the background. The singer’s twang takes a step forward in “here lies country music” as he name-drops classics by Willie Nelson, Hank Williams Jr., and more while illustrating a fictional world where country music is among all the good things that eventually come to an end.

“Well here lies country music / Had a damn good run / It took its last Nashville lap around a Ring of Fire sun / Jack Daniel’s in the front row / Right next to steel guitar / The headline said, the cause of death was a lonely broken heart,” he sings in the opening verse.

It has been two years since he unveiled his 2020 debut album A ROCK, and HARDY plans to come back stronger than ever with this upcoming two-part LP.

the mockingbird & THE CROW is, in my opinion, the best thing I’ve made so far,” HARDY shared in a press release. “I had a lot of time to get in the weeds making this record with some of my favorite people in Nashville, and it truly captures every part of who I am as an artist. I’m honored that I get to share it with you next year; can’t wait to hear what you think about it.”

This project was recorded between Ocean Way and Blackbird Studios in Nashville and produced by Joey Moi. In addition to being a co-writer, HARDY also served as a co-producer with Derek Wells. Other songwriters that will be featured in the credits are Ashley Gorley, Rhett Akins, Hillary Lindsey, Jessie Jo Dillon, David Garcia, Hunter Phelps, Jordan Schmidt, and more

Later this year, HARDY will take his new music on the road as he embarks on his headlining Wall To Wall Tour. He’ll kick things off on December 1 with back-to-back, sold-out shows at Georgia Theater in Athens, Georgia. The Wall To Wall Tour features support from Jackson Dean and Puddle Of Mudd on select dates.
