HARDY’s wife, Caleigh Ryan Hardy, is asking for prayers amid a “hard month” and the sudden passing of HARDY’s grandfather.
In a recent Instagram story, Caleigh, who wed Michael Hardy (known as HARDY) in October of 2022, shared a candid message with her 263,000-plus followers, revealing that Bobby Hardy, recently passed away.
HARDY’s Grandfather Unexpectedly Passed Away
“It’s been a hard month over here for me as ya’ll might already know, but a new heartbreak came for the family this Thursday when Michael’s sweet grandpa, Bobby, passed away unexpectedly,” she shared, referring to Thursday, January 18.
While she did not elaborate on the personal struggles she has recently been facing, Caleigh admitted that Bobby Hardy’s death was just another test of her and the family’s resilience amid tough times.
Shares Hope Amid Tough Times
“Life always seems to have a way of challenging you and testing your limits when you feel like you can least handle it, but I know something great will come out of these hard times,” she continued.
Caleigh, who is normally quite active on social media has seemingly stepped away from Instagram in recent weeks. She noted that some of her followers have noticed her absence on the platform and thanked those who have reached out to her with concerns.
“Those of you who have been sending sweet messages checking in and noticing my absence, thank you from the bottom of my heart – ya’ll are just the best,” she wrote.
Asks For Prayers
In closing, Caleigh asked her Instagram community to lift the Hardy family up in prayer as they navigate the loss of the patriarch of the family. She wrote, “We would greatly appreciate any prayers for the Hardy family and his sweet grandma through this time.”
HARDY has yet to openly speak about the passing of his grandfather.
She Often Uses Her Platform To Support Her Husband
Caleigh is typically an open book on social media and often uses her platform to support HARDY’s musical endeavors. Late last year, she shared a message to her followers, thanking them for the overwhelming support of HARDY after he was forced to cancel concerts after suffering crippling anxiety and panic attacks.
“I just want to take a little sec to thank you all so much for your kind messages these past few days. The love and support has been overwhelming to say the least (in the best way possible) and it means more to us than you could ever imagine,” she wrote at the time.
HARDY Gets Honest About Mental Health
Since then, HARDY has opened up about his struggles with mental health and promised to make his health a priority. In a recent episode of God’s Country from iHeartPodcasts and MeatEater, the genre-bending star detailed the panic attacks that took place last fall and his healing journey that ensued in the aftermath. He revealed that he entered a “three day intensive trauma therapy thing, where it was 18 hours of therapy and over the course of three days.”
Through this experience, which took place months after his tour bus crash, HARDY realized that he was feeling a sense of burnout and ultimately came to the decision that he needs to scale back his touring schedule.
“I’m still gonna play shows, but I’m just not gonna play as many in the future, and it’s gonna be a little more systematic… I’ve learned that I’m always going to play shows, and I love playing shows, but it got to a point where it was too much for me, and I think that that was just as much a cause of my anxiety as the trauma from the bus wreck.”
The CMA Award winner recently announced his QUIT!! Tour, which will kick off on May 20, 2024 in Rogers, Arkansas.
