HARDY and Blake Shelton have finally joined forces on a new duet, “Hell,” featured on HARDY’s four-track project SIDES.
This collaboration has been a long time coming for the two acts. They first teamed up on Shelton’s “Fire Up The Night” in 2021, and since then, HARDY has co-written several fan-favorites in his fellow country star’s catalog, including “God’s Country,” “Let Him In Anyway” and “Come Back As A Country Boy.” However, “Hell” marks the first time Shelton has appeared on one of HARDY’s own projects.

For nearly four minutes, listeners are met with a mid-tempo tune that blends classic country sounds with a rock edge. HARDY and Shelton tackle the lyrics on the good-time anthem as they sing about letting loose after a long workweek and making the most of a carefree weekend.
They embrace a little troublemaking, from backroad drives to late nights, while making it clear they still plan to be in church on Sunday morning, no matter what state they are left in from the night before. The song plays on that approach while the artists share their belief that having a wild weekend won’t cost them their place in heaven one day.
“Good lord what a good life/ Out here with the mosquitos/ Laid back on the hood like Steve McQueen meets Bo Duke and Bocephus/ Whatcha know ‘bout Hankin’ ‘til the break of dawn/ Whatcha know ‘bout smack dab in the middle/ Of nowhere, hey y’all whatcha waiting on/ Bring your hill billy tail bone let’s raise a little Hell/ Ah hell/ Ah hell,” they come together to sing on the chorus.
In addition to “Hell,” each song on SIDES leans into a different musical direction, highlighting HARDY’s impressive ability to tap into nearly any genre. “By God” brings in gospel influences, while “King of the Hill” leans into his heavier rock sound. The project closes with “Tommy Made the News,” a moving country anthem built around the kind of storytelling that will hit you right in the heart.
The opening track, “By God,” impacts country radio today, November 2.
