Disney is bringing together some of country music’s biggest names for a brand-new EP, Main Street Country, featuring reimagined versions of beloved Disney songs with a country twist.

Out now via Walt Disney Records, the project includes contributions from Kane Brown and Katelyn Brown, Restless Road, Dasha, Maddie & Tae, and BRELAND. The release is part of the Mickey & Friends music series and follows the pop-punk Disney cover album A Whole New Sound.

To celebrate the project, Mickey and Minnie Mouse made a special appearance at Studio A inside the Grand Ole Opry, where Restless Road, Dasha, Maddie & Tae, and BRELAND took the stage to perform their newly recorded tracks live.

Restless Road chose to cover “The Climb” from Hannah Montana: The Movie, explaining that the song’s powerful message made it an easy decision.

“We were so thrilled because Disney is such obviously an iconic brand and nostalgic, and there’s no one that can say they haven’t grown up with Disney, young or old. And we wanted to do ‘The Climb’ because it just has such a powerful message. We’re all about motivation, chasing dreams. And so we just felt like we’ve always loved to do a song like that and we’re happy Disney made that possible for us,” the trio explained to Country Now

Dasha tapped into Disney Channel nostalgia with her version of “She’s So Gone” from Lemonade Mouth, revealing she’s been a fan of the track for several years.

“I’m a personal fan of this song. I listen to it at the gym, if I’m being so honest. I think it’s just such a banger and it reminds me of ‘Since You Be Gone’ by Kelly Clarkson a lot, which is so cool,” she shared. “And I just love the messaging behind it about growing up and breaking free of that mold or the idea that people have of you or whatever it is. I love that idea of being like, ‘I’m going to be who I am. No one can stop me.’”

BRELAND put his spin on “Go the Distance” from one of his all-time favorite Disney movies, Hercules. The opportunity to work with Disney is a full-circle moment in his career.

“There are a couple calls that I’ve gotten in my life that have been very transformative for me, and I think this was definitely one of them. I grew up on all of these Disney Channel shows and movies, all of that, Disney movies, Disney Pixar,” he said. “One of my first ever exposures to country music was Gary LeVox and Rascal Flatts in ‘Cars.’ I was just obsessed with his voice. My dad and my mom love his voice. And so we became fans of Rascal Flats because of that movie, which I know is how a lot of people discovered them. And then literally the first person that I made music with… was Gary when I first moved here six years ago.”

Maddie & Tae’s rendition of “You’ll Be in My Heart” from Tarzan carries an especially emotional weight, as it marks one of their final releases together as a duo. The song has taken on an even deeper meaning for the pair, who admit it feels like a “great way to kind of close that chapter” of their journey side by side.

While Kane Brown and Katelyn Brown didn’t perform during the event, they made a surprise appearance and joined host Kelly Sutton to talk about their involvement. Katelyn revealed that she immediately said “yes” to the project and that she was the one who suggested covering “Beauty and the Beast,” calling the experience a “dream come true.”
