Jake Hoot Gets Engaged To Brittney Hoyt
He asked and she said “YES!”
The Voice winner Jake Hoot recently popped the question to his girlfriend, Brittney Nicole Hoyt, People confirms.
The singer surprised Hoyt with a hometown proposal that took place in front of her entire family.
″I knew how important being around family was to Britt, and with her birthday coming up, I knew it would be the perfect time to do it!″ he explained to People. ″She’s one of seven, so arranging everyone to fly in and it still be a surprise was tough, but we all coordinated how it would happen, and it went off without a hitch!″
When the moment came and Hoyt saw her family gathered around, she got the hint that something big was happening.
″She lost it! I had to keep her moving forward because she was crying and trying to fall down on me!″ Hoot recalled. ″Then after I popped the question, we were both so emotional that I almost had to wrestle her arm to put the ring on her hand!”
Hoyt reacted to the news via Instagram with a touching post.
“My whole life I’ve prayed for my husband. The man I knew that God would hand craft just for me. I’ve dreamt a lot about what it would look like and feel like, but never in my wildest dreams did I think it could be this good, this fun, this easy, this filled with peace and joy,” she wrote. “@jake.hoot.music you are far more than I ever dreamt of! I could not be more thrilled to get to spend the rest of my life loving you! Cheers to forever with you, my very best friend!”
According to People, the couple initially met when they both served as wedding singers at a mutual friend’s wedding. They soon lost touch, but one day reconnected during a missions trip. It was from that moment on that they knew they were meant to be together.
″I knew from [the time] we reconnected in Nicaragua!″ Hoot explained of the time he realized she was the one for him. ″Her heart for others and love for God made me fall in love with her. I’m so glad God blessed the broken road that brought us back around to each other numerous times!″
Hoot’s 5-year-old daughter, Macy, also approves of the pending marriage and even offered her blessing on the engagement.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
