Jake Owen puts a two-stepping twist on a country love song with the release of “My Boots Miss Yours.”
Out now, the Blake Bollinger, Brad Clawson, and Brett Sheroky-penned track puts the Florida native’s sultry vocals on full display as it details his longing for another night out on the town with his new fling.
After a memorable evening “kicking sawdust in the neon light,” Owen just can’t seem to get enough. Playing coy, he blames his quick contact on his boots.
“Might sound crazy but my Luccheses/ are waiting there by the door/ Yeah, they’re wearing me out, they wanna go now,” he sings.
On the chorus, the chart-topping star suggests a plan for their reunion.
Listen
“My boots miss yours/ From the heel down to the toe/ It’s like they got a hole down in their soles/ Never felt like this before/ My boots miss yours/ What ya say we get ’em back together/ Make a little trail of clothes and leather/ Let ’em hang out on the bedroom floor/ My boots miss yours…”
With its addictive melody and Owen’s familiar tone, “My Boots Miss Yours” is sure to resonate with fans.
“It’s a new year, so it’s only appropriate that we put out some new music to go with it,” Owen says of the Joey Moi-produced track. “I’ve loved this song from the moment I heard it; excited to finally share it with you today.”
Owen Joins TikTok
The release of “My Boots Miss Yours” comes just days after Jake Owen reluctantly joined TikTok. His first post featured a video of him insisting, “no one is making me do this,” as he reads cue cards in front of him.
“Hi, my name is Jake Owen. I’m now on the TikTok. I am doing this in my own volition. I promise, no one is making me do this, or forcing me. You can follow me @jakeowen. And my new song, ‘My Boots Miss Yours,’ is out this Friday. Go get it. Stream it, please.”
He later adds, “Just wanna go home now. I have a family.”
To celebrate the song release, Owen teamed up with Lucchese for a giveaway on Instagram.
New Album?
Jake Owen celebrated his 10th chart-topping single last year with “Best Thing Since Backroads.” While he has released a number of singles in recent months, including “1×1” and “Up There Down Here,” fans are still anxiously awaiting the arrival of his next album.
The yet-to-be-announced project will serve as the follow-up to 2019’s Greetings From…Jake, which spawned hits like “Down To The Honkytonk” and “I Was Jake (You Were Diane).”
Although there’s no release date for the next project Jake Owen promises that “My Boots Miss Yours” is just a taste of what’s to come from him this year.
Fans can catch Owen on the road throughout the year. In addition to various headlining performances, he is slated to appear at a number high-profile country music festivals, including Tortuga Music Festival and Tailgate N’ Tallboys.
Jake Owen’s next scheduled tour date is set for February 11 in San Antonio, Texas.
