Jason Aldean recently delivered an epic performance at Nissan Stadium in Nashville during CMA Fest, which will later air on July 19 at 8/7c via ABC.

New Songs Out Now

His CMA Fest performance comes on the heels of the release of “Tough Crowd” and “Try That In A Small Town,” two brand-new tracks that he performed at the 50th annual event.

“Tough Crowd” was a surprise release and dropped on May 8. Produced by Michael Knox and co-written by Kurt Allison, Marv Green, Tully Kennedy, Kelley Lovelace, and Neil Thrasher, “Tough Crowd” serves as a tribute to his fanbase, the Aldean Army.

“I see girls with tattoos / good ol’ boys and cowboys / I see a few soldiers here tonight / welcome back / We got some country ass beer drinkin’ hell raisin’ go all nighters / we got some dirt turnin’ diesel burnin’ hard workin’ 9 to 5ers,” Aldean sings on the first verse, detailing what he sees each time he steps onto the stage.

He performed the song during the 2023 ACM Awards.

Try That In A Small Town” arrived a few weeks later. This track showcases the way Aldean feels about the current state of the world.

“It seems like there are bad things happening on a daily basis, and that feels unfamiliar to a lot of us. This song sheds some light on that,” he explained in a social media post.

Kurt Allison, Tully Kennedy, Kelley Lovelace, and Neil Thrasher co-wrote the song, which was produced by Aldean’s longtime collaborator, Michael Knox.

“Well, try that in a small town / See how far ya make it down the road / ‘Round here we take care of our own / You cross that line, it won’t take long / For you to find out, I recommend you don’t / Try that in a small town,” he sings.

Both songs are expected to appear on Jason Aldean’s forthcoming 11th studio album. A release date and further details surrounding the project have yet to be announced.

2023 Tour

Aldean will soon embark on his Highway Desperado Tour. The 39-city headlining tour kicks off on July 14 at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, NY and is scheduled to make stops across the U.S. in Atlanta, Charlotte, Phoenix and more. The upcoming trek will come to a close in Tampa at MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre on October 28.

Mitchell Tenpenny will serve as direct support for Aldean, alongside openers Corey Kent and DJ Silver.
