Jason Aldean is speaking out in support of Carrie Underwood following her performance at Donald Trump’s inauguration on Monday.

The country star appeared on FOX & Friends early Tuesday morning, applauding Underwood’s rendition of “America The Beautiful” a cappella after technical difficulties prevented the backing track from playing.

“I mean, first of all, it’s a hard song to do anyway, and when you’re supposed to be singing to a track, and that’s what gives you pitch reference for the song. And to not have that for her to just kind of say, ‘all right, listen, we’ll go.’ I mean, that’s a big move and that’s a pro move on her part,” Aldean applauded. “So I thought it was great.”

Underwood, who attended the inauguration alongside her husband, Mike Fisher, and oldest son, Isaiah, drew praise from many viewers. Several social media users dubbed her a “class act” and a “true professional” for her ability to change plans and sing a cappella in an instant.

Aldean also took part in President Trump’s inauguration festivities, delivering a 30-minute full-band performance on Monday evening during the Liberty Ball.

Ahead of the event, he opened up about what he believes was a “big day for our country” in an interview with CBS Mornings

“The last few years have been… kind of really divisive and just a lot of stuff going on, and I just hope this is kind of the beginning of a new era for our country and kind of get back on track,” he shared.

As a father of four, Aldean admitted that he does “worry” about the current state of the country but hopes that Trump will do “great things” in the next four years.

“I think the thing with President Trump is, I think he wants to do great things for the American people and the country,” Aldean stated. “And he’s a guy that I feel like when he says something, he tries to get it done.

“He’s not just telling you. You know, I feel like a lot of times politicians will just tell you things — just to make it sound good. And I feel like he’s a guy that actually wants to go get it done.”

Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood have a history together. In 2021, they teamed up to record and release the heartbreak ballad “If I Didn’t Love You,” which went on to become a massive, two-week No.1 single at country radio, topping both the Mediabase/Country Aircheck Singles chart and Billboard’s Country Airplay charts.

The artists joined forces to perform the song during the 55th Annual CMA Awards and the 2021 American Music Awards.

The heartfelt song was penned by Aldean’s bandmates Kurt Allison and Tully Kennedy, along with John Morgan and Lydia Vaughan. It was produced by Michael Knox, Aldean’s longtime collaborator, and appears on his 10th studio album, Macon, Georgia.
