Jason Aldean’s Going on a Family Ski Trip for Christmas, But He Can’t Ski

It’s no secret that Jason Aldean and his wife, Brittany, love to spend their vacations on the beach. In the past they’ve shared snapshots on social media of themselves lounging in a hammock on the Turks and Caicos Islands, taking in a breathtaking beach sunset and riding an inflatable paddle board with their two young children, Memphis and Navy.

But this Christmas, the family is switching this up: They’re trading in their flip flops for ski boots, Aldean explains.

“We decided to take everybody on a family ski trip for Christmas,” he told Country Now and other outlets during a recent press event. “It’s probably the first time I’ll be around snow at Christmas, ever. It’ll be fun.”

So, is Aldean a good skier?

“No, man, I’m from the South,” he quips. “I grew up around the beach, not the snow. I typically like to go up to the top, ski down once, and then ski right into the bar. Go and have a few beers, and then meet ‘em back at the house later.”

No matter whether they’re sunbathing or snowed in, Aldean says his family will go all out for the holidays. “But our house is wild just on a Tuesday. When you’ve got two toddlers in the house, it’s always wild,” the singer jokes.

“But Christmas is our favorite time of year. A lot of decorations in the house, and we kinda go all out, probably a little over the top on gifts and things like that,” he adds, admitting that his wife is typically the ringleader of spreading holiday cheer in the household. “Yes, Britt goes over the top. Not just for Christmas, but pretty much everything she does is over the top.”
