One thing about Jelly Roll is that he is always looking out for his fans and making sure they feel his gratitude for their support. This was proved once again during the hitmaker’s recent performance at the Tailgates N’ Tallboys festival in Midland, MI, when he spotted a fan using an IV drip in the midst of the packed pit.
In a video captured by a concertgoer and shared to TikTok, Jelly Roll is seen stopping the show and calling over his cameraman to show the level of commitment this woman has to her love for music.
He addressed her saying, “I’ve seen a lot of crazy s— at my shows. But this young lady is out here with a full-blown IV.”
The woman then explained that she is a “cancer survivor.”
After hearing this he called to his team over the microphone and asked someone to “get her a chair.”
“Somebody on my team, let’s get her somewhere more comfortable to watch the rest of the show. We’ll get you off your feet, baby. OK?”

Jelly Roll took another look at the woman and said “beautiful,” in regards to her resilience and willingness to brave such a crowd just to watch him perform.
After this kind encounter with a fan, Jelly Roll went on to reflect on the fact that 2024 has been “the wildest year” of his life and career.
“There’s no denying it. I mean literally we were nominated for a GRAMMY January of this year, baby. We just won the Country Music Association Award for the best New Artist of the Year, y’all, we have just won an Academy of Country Music Award, we have just won a Country Music Television Award. And man, that stuff warms my heart, but nothing warms my heart like today. I had the opportunity to go to flint Michigan and go by the Genesee County Jail,” he shared.
His visit was prompted by the installation of a recording studio in the jail in an attempt to try and allow those incarcerated to use music as an outlet, something that Jelly Roll did even without having a recording studio during his days behind bars.
“We got to go in there and love on some people and talk about music and the power of music and I just want y’all to know that I never take it for granted this platform that you’ve given me. I try to do right by you every single day with this platform.”
Before most of his shows, the “Need A Favor” singer has made it a point to visit jails, rehabilitation centers, hospitals and more to spread love to in communities and the people who he can connect with the most. Jelly Roll has certainly made it a point to never hide from his past, and instead has found ways to use those experiences to bring positivity into the world. Along with that, he offers messages of hope like that of his newest release, “I Am Not Okay,” which lets listeners know it’s okay to not be okay.
This song offers a preview into his highly-anticipated forthcoming album, along with his chart-climbing single, “Liar.”
Jelly Roll is also gearing up to launch his 2024 Beautifully Broken Tour with a highly-anticipated show in Salt Lake City on August 27. The trek will include stops in arenas across the US.
