The Candle Allows Fans To Experience Kacey Musgraves’ New Album Through Scent

What Does Kacey Musgraves’ Candle Smell Like?

According to a recent release, the candle incorporates “earthy-gourmand notes” of mushroom, beetroot, oakmoss, and damp patchouli, to symbolize a return to one’s roots, as well as “a distillation of what’s essential” using freshness of eucalyptus, raspberry, and lavender. This mix of scents was carefully chosen to bring out inner strength and abundant wisdom, inviting the smeller to “tap into their own DEEPER WELL.”

“This new album is an honest excavation of my own transformation the last few years,” says Musgraves. “I’m emerging more centered, grounded, and trusting of myself than ever—and I knew that I wanted to create a multi-sensorial experience that cultivates self-discovery and our connection to the natural world. Working with Boy Smells is always a joy—and I truly adore the care, sensitivity, and thought that Matthew brings to the process.”

Musgraves Drew From Personal Experiences To Create A Candle In Her Likeness

Matthew Herman, Co-Founder and Creator of Boy Smells, revealed that the “Follow Your Arrow” singer was a “genuine partner” who was very hands-on in the process of making the Deeper Well candle to ensure it truly felt like a product that reflects her artistry and her personal experiences.

“From our initial meeting in New York to crafting the fragrance, we shared constant feedback through text, voice memos, and video calls. Every detail, down to the packaging, received Kacey’s dedicated involvement,” Herman shared. “Just as in her music, fragrance becomes a deeply personal expression, and Kacey devoted her unwavering work ethic to bring this partnership to life.”

To celebrate the release of the Deeper Well candle, Musgraves and Boy Smells hosted a private launch party in NYC. This immersive event featured a living-garden installation, to honor the candle’s fulfilling “scentscape” of earthy-gourmand notes, and signature cocktails inspired by the key scent notes. Plus, guests were given the chance to preview the forthcoming Deeper Well album in a serene listening space.

Follows The Success Of 2020’s Slow Burn Candle

This marks the second collaboration between Kacey Musgraves and the fragrance brand following the incredibly successful Slow Burn candle in 2020. This scent, named after her 2018 tune, earned the title of Candle of The Year by The Fragrance Foundation and was the winner of GQ’s 2020 Home Scent of the Year.

“Kacey effortlessly embodies genuine self-expression, a fundamental value of ours,” Herman added. “Rooted yet boldly outspoken, she always shares her perspective with a blend of unaffected sincerity and irreverent humor. So, working with her again was an immediate YES.”

How Can I Purchase Kacey Musgraves’ Candle?

New Album Coming March 2024

This news comes hot on the heels of the announcement of Kacey Musgraves’ fifth studio album, which is set to drop in March 2024. Deeper Well marks the first full-length release from the Golden, TX native since her critically acclaimed 2021 album star-crossed. This highly accredited project debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales Chart and served as a follow-up to her 2018 album Golden Hour, which earned Musgraves her third No. 1 debut on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. It also made her the third artist to ever take home Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards, Country Music Association Awards and Academy of Country Music Awards.

Musgraves dropped the first taste of Deeper Well with the title track and has continued to tease the overarching theme throughout her recent social media posts.

Fans can catch Kacey Musgraves promoting her upcoming album on the March 2 airing of Saturday Night Live. She will make her third appearance as a musical guest following her previous appearances in May 2018 and October 2021. The evening will be hosted by Anyone But You actress, Sydney Sweeney.
