Kameron Marlowe has blown fans away with his cover of Chris Stapleton’s “Fire Away.” During one of his recent live shows, the country star included the 2015 release into his stacked setlist and then shared the clip of the performance featuring just him and his guitar on shared social media. This gave fans who weren’t in attendance the chance to experience his impressive rendition.

“Fave Stapleton song by my favorite country artist. Can’t beat this,” one user wrote while another said, “This was so good I cried while you were singing it.👏

Marlowe Has Been Covering Stapleton For Years

This isn’t the first time Marlowe has covered Stapleton, in fact, he’s been sharing videos of himself singing covers like “Fire Away” since the beginning of his career. Serenading his audience with the powerful tunes has allowed the North Carolina native to put his jaw-dropping vocal range on display in a way that reflects that of the 8x GRAMMY winner.

Other Chris Stapleton songs that he’s previously covered include “Whiskey And You,” “Tennessee Whiskey,” “Either Way,” and more.

Marlowe told Country Now that he has admired Stapleton’s gripping catalog of storytelling tunes and “powerhouse vocals” for years, and even considers him to be one of his “favorite artists.”

“Stapleton is one of my favorite artists because of the soul that he brings into his music,” he shared. “Growing up as a blues fan and hearing true singers, it’s great to hear a powerhouse vocal telling a story because it brings emotion and feeling into the song! It’s refreshing to hear in a genre like country where a powerhouse vocal is not always prominent.”

Kameron Marlowe is currently in the midst of his headlining I Can Lie Tour named after his honky tonk anthem, “I Can Lie (The Truth Is).”

Penned by the “Steady Heart” singer with Jordan Fletcher and Shane Minor, the recently released track finds the country star battling the want for love while also holding a fear of commitment. His baritone vocals are accompanied by the traditional sounds of pedal steel and the fiddle, taking listeners back to that traditional country sound that’s been passed down from generation to generation by the likes of Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and more.

“‘I Can Lie’ is a song about a toxic relationship that talks about the battle of loving and hating someone who’s just not good for you,” Marlowe previously shared of the tune. “When people hear it, I want them to be taken back in time to the 1970s when western outlaw country was taking over.”

This song was followed by the release of “Tennessee Don’t Mind,” in which Marlowe pays tribute to his relationship with the state that has impacted his life in so many ways.

The tune was penned by Lady A’s Charles Kelley alongside Daniel Tashian, but Marlowe makes the lyrics his own with his rich vocals gliding across the fiddle-led, mid-tempo track.

“To me, Tennessee in this instance really represents Music City,” Marlowe admitted while discussing his connection to the storyline. “There is a give and take with chasing this dream, and the past two years have been a whirlwind. There’s a lot of ‘life’ we miss out on being on the road – something no one prepares you for. I feel the most at home on the road and sometimes that’s the scary part. The music just consumes you and sometimes it’s hard to get out of your own head.”

Newly Added Tour Dates Extending Into 2024

After selling out nearly every one of the originally scheduled dates for his current headlining trek, Marlowe took to social media to announce that he would be adding even more shows into 2024.

The Columbia Nashville/Sony Music Nashville artist kicked things off with an at-capacity show in Los Angeles, CA on October 26 and will continue with dates in Athens, GA, Indianapolis, IN, Charleston, SC, Chattanooga, TN, Denver, CO and more.

Marlowe will wrap up the extended I Can Lie Tour on March 1 in Tallahassee, FL.

Elvie Shane, Matt Schuster, James McNair, Logan Crosby, and Laci Kaye Booth have been tapped to serve as special guests on select dates of the run.

Tickets for the newly added dates are on sale now on Kameron Marlowe’s official website HERE.
