Kane Brown has been a long-time supporter of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. And, on Saturday (Feb. 19), he proved that again by paying a special visit to the Boys & Girls Club in Cleveland, Ohio. Fans may recall, in the fall of 2021, Brown presented the Boys & Girls Club, located on Broadway Avenue with a generous donation to help fund a major renovation for the organization’s gymnasium.

This time, the country singer dropped in to help celebrate the grand opening of the club’s brand new basketball court, which went years without any prior updates or renovations. Judging by recent photos, it looks as though club members have already gotten use out of their new playing field, which features updated flooring with a Kane Brown autographed section, a new scoreboard, bleachers, and audio and electrical work.

Thanking Brown for the gift, the organization, known for helping kids in need, posted a message of gratitude to the singer on its Boys & Girls Club of America Facebook page.

“A beautiful moment, as we would like to thank Kane Brown for his donation of a new gymnasium to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio/Cleveland ahead of the @NBA’s All-Star Weekend! #greatfutures #allstarweekend,” a caption reads, alongside photos of kids and adults standing on the fresh court with Brown.

Brown also took to his own social media page to share the same spread of photos, writing, “This is what it’s all about. ❤️”

Brown’s love of helping out the Boys & Girls Clubs of America goes back to memories during his childhood.

“Growing up, I had always wanted a place to go. I never had a place to go after school. I just had sports. So I played sports. That was the only thing to help me out,” Brown explained while giving his donation, in advance of his then concert at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, according to WKYC.com. “There’s no telling where I would have been, staying out of trouble if I didn’t have sports. I love basketball, and we get to give these kids a new gym today, and I think it’s amazing. I hope they love it.”

Of note, Brown holds a long-standing relationship with the NBA. He recently completed his sold-out NBA Arena Basketball tour, the Blessed & Free tour, which made stops at 29 NBA arenas. In addition to that, on Sunday (Feb. 20,) he participated in the 2022 Ruffles All-Star Celebrity Basketball Game for the second year in a row.

The game, which takes place every year as part of NBA All-Star weekend, had Brown competing against a handful of celebrities, including fellow country artist Jimmie Allen. Brown’s wife, Katelyn, was seated on the sidelines and showed her support during the game by posting a photo of her and Allen’s wife on her Instagram page.

“Basketball Wives for a day 🏀🥂,” she wrote, alongside the snapshot.

Brown is currently gearing up to release his new song, “Leave You Alone,” due out March 7. He is also nominated in three categories heading into the 57th annual ACM Awards for his “Famous Friends” collaboration with Chris Young. The 2022 ACM Awards will air exclusively as a live stream on Amazon Prime Video from its new venue, the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, on Monday (March 7, 2022) at 8:00 p.m. ET.
