Recently honored for his extensive philanthropic efforts, Kane Brown is continuing his support of veterans through a new partnership with Crown Royal.
The Official Whisky Of The In The Air Tour
Announced today, Crown Royal has been named the official whisky of the superstar’s massive In The Air Tour. As part of this exclusive partnership, Crown Royal and the current ACM Entertainer of the Year nominee announced the “That Deserves a Crown with Kane Brown” contest. Those who are 21+ can nominate a veteran for a chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime concert experience at the final show of Brown’s In The Air Tour, taking place in Arlington, Texas on September 14, 2024.
“That Deserves a Crown with Kane Brown”
Nominations can be made now through August 15, 2024, at SummerSessions.CrownRoyal.com. For every valid nomination, Crown Royal will donate $1 to CreatiVets, a nonprofit that helps wounded veterans heal through music and the arts.
Brown (who takes his whisky neat by the way) has always had a special place in his heart for veterans and the military.
“I have family members that were in service and then I had a lot of friends that were in the service,” he told us on Friday while hanging in the Crown Lounge backstage at his show in Chicago, IL.
As many may recall, Brown attempted to join the Army when he was 18, but “got denied” because of his tattoos. He turned to music and has gone on to build an illustrious career, raking in billions of streams, earning 11 No.1s at country radio, and performing sold-out shows across the world. While his career in the service didn’t quite work out, Brown now uses his platform for good.
“Now I get to sing for veterans. They come to my shows and I just tell them how much I love ‘em and we always get a great crowd reaction whenever we bring it up,” he explains. “So it’s always been a special place in my heart for veterans because they go and fight for our country and leave their families, which has got to be the hardest thing.”
As a touring artist, the soon-to-be father of three can identify with the emotions that come with being away from the ones you love. He tells us, “I relate to that, just being away from my family if I’m on the road. So I couldn’t imagine being over somewhere and not knowing if you’re going to come back. It just holds a super sensitive place in my heart.”
Purple Bag Project
In addition to serving up specialty Crown Royal cocktails throughout the tour, at select tour stops, fans 21+ will have the opportunity to participate in the Purple Bag Project. This initiative, in partnership with Packages From Home, turns the iconic Crown Royal bag into a care package for active-duty military serving around the world. By collaborating with entities such as Packages From Home and CreatiVets, the brand has provided assistance to more than 1 million servicemen and women to date.
“Our ties to country music are ingrained in our brand identity. We’ve always made it a priority to support artists in this space, which makes reunion with Kane so special.” Hadley Schafer, VP, Crown Royal, states. “With millions of Americans listening and embracing the growth of western culture, working with Kane on this tour was a natural fit. We’re excited to celebrate the ever-evolving country music genre alongside our support of the military community.”
Brown previously partnered with Crown Royal in 2020 to remix his chart-topping hit “Homesick” alongside veteran singer/songwriters. For every stream of “Homesick (Veteran’s Version)” the Crown Royal Purple Bag Project packed one bag to be donated to veterans and active military members and donated $1 to Minority Veterans of America.
“Homesick” Resonates With Veterans And Active Duty Military
From the beginning, Brown dedicated “Homesick” to service members and their families, and the song still touches people to this day.
“I get a lot of messages from people in different branches and different areas of the world that were just saying that that song got them through deployment, which meant so much to me,” he admits.
