After previously teasing that a duet with his wife was “in the works,” Kane Brown confirmed the couple’s forthcoming collaboration on Thursday morning (July 23) during an interview on Sirius XM’s The Highway.
While chatting with the Storme Warren Show’s MC, the superstar revealed that he and Katelyn is his “secret weapon that I’m waiting to unleash.”
“So usually, I’ll always just write my songs, but this was actually a pitch that I heard that immediately caught my ears and caught my attention,” Brown explained. “It’s kind of like another…it’s not ‘Worldwide Beautiful,’ but it’s basically a song calling out everything else that’s happened in 2020, from the tornados destroying Nashville, California getting hit by those fires, and all of that.”
He went on to share that the song is called “Mad At This World” and explained the hook of the much-anticipated tune.
“It’s basically saying, ‘how could I be mad at this world when this world gave me you?”
As of now, there is no confirmed release date for the collaboration.
It may come as a surprise to many, but when the couple met, Katelyn was actually a recording artist herself. She previously released two singles, “Perfect” and “24KT.” In fact, Brown was supposed to be in one of her music videos, but he could not appear due to a scheduling conflict.
