Rising singer/songwriter Kasey Tyndall recently announced plans to release her self-titled new album and shared the project’s lead single, “Crystal Methodist,” with fans.

Her Most Vulnerable Songwriting Yet

Arriving on February 28th, the 11-track collection boasts Tyndall’s most honest songwriting to date.

“It was important for each of these songs to relate to my life as it is now so that this album could be as authentic as possible,” she shared. “I’ve been waiting and working patiently for years, molding my craft, and trusting the process to get to this moment.”

“Crystal Methodist”

Along with the album announcement, the North Carolina native unveiled “Crystal Methodist,” the witty lead single that is guaranteed to turn some heads.

In her own words, Tyndall explained: “’Crystal Methodist’ is the story of a typical hometown where everyone has skeletons in the closet. A place where nobody’s perfect, but it’s perfect just the way it is at the same time. It’s quickly becoming one of my favorites to play live because without fail, the stage comes alive every time my band and I perform it in front of an audience. Can’t wait for y’all to hear it and feel the energy!”

The music video perfectly captures the song’s playful spirit. Featuring comedians Brittany Smith and Justin Stagner, the clip follows Tyndall as she prepares to host a backyard BBQ that quickly fills up with the town’s many colorful characters—including, as she sings, “preachers, cheaters, homeroom teachers, county records, backroad tweakers, nosey neighbors, moonshine makers, dealers and believers.”

In addition to “Crystal Methodist,” the self-titled collection also includes the previously released “Pulling Weeds,” which showcases both her country and rock influences and “Not As I’ve Done,” a heartfelt song for her daughter.

In anticipation of the album’s release, Kasey Tyndall will participate in a songwriter session at the Country Music Hall of Fame on Saturday, February 15.
