Keith Urban sent fans flying High with the announcement of his much-anticipated new album, arriving on September 20, 2024.

First New Album In Nearly Four Years

Serving as his first new album in nearly four years, High will take fans on a musical journey through various emotions and themes throughout its 12 tracks.

“What makes you ‘high’ can mean whatever you want it to mean,” Urban explained of the album title.  “It might be physical, spiritual, herbal, meditative, chemical or musical, but it’s definitely a place of utopia.”

He continued, “For me it’s my family, my friends, and this rollercoaster musical journey I’m on.  Playing guitar, writing songs and the place where I always feel high – playing live.  Every night I get a chance to bring an energy and a release to people.”

Included on the project is Urban’s latest radio single, “Messed Up As Me,” as well as the previously released tracks “Straight Line” and “GO HOME W U,” featuring Lainey Wilson

“Wildside” Is Out Now

Coinciding with the album announcement, the four-time GRAMMY winner shared the brand-new track, “Wildside” with fans. This upbeat, toe-tapping anthem was inspired by Joan Cusack’s character in the 2003 film The School of Rock.

“She’s the principal of a school by day, all prim and proper,” Urban said. “And then, a few tequilas at night and all bets are off.”

High Was Born After A “Musically Limiting” Project That Never Saw The Light Of Day

Urban originally set out to create another album, a concept record titled 615, in 2022. This project, according to Urban, fell short.

“At the time I was on tour. I’d do a concert, go back to Nashville to record, do a concert and come back to record, and over again.  So, I thought I’d call the album 615. That’d keep me on track – focused and disciplined,” he explained.

Due to the constant back and forth, the album had “no continuity” and he decided to scrap the idea and start over.

“The songs didn’t work well together,” he admitted. “I learned that what I thought was a framework to create within, turned out to be musically limiting.”

As fans continue to count down to the release of High, they will have plenty of opportunities to catch the superstar on tour. Keith Urban has a full list of appearances planned throughout the remainder of the summer, including stops at a number of fairs and festivals.
