Kelly Clarkson paid tribute to the late Johnny Cash with a spirited cover of his iconic hit, “Ring Of Fire.”
The superstar performed the song in the latest installment of her ‘Kellyoke’ series on her hit talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show.
The hit song was co-written by June Carter Cash and Merle Kilgore and released by Johnny Cash in 1963. It went on to top the charts for seven weeks. “Ring Of Fire” was named one of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time by Rolling Stone and also earned a place among CMT‘s 100 Greatest Songs of Country Music.
Clarkson’s rendition was close to the original and showcased her powerful vocals.
