Fresh off her fiery performance on last week’s CMT Music Awards, country queen Kelsea Ballerini is celebrating her fifth country radio No.1 with “Miss Me More.” The song, co-written by Ballerini with David Hodges and Brett McLaughlin, sits atop the Country Aircheck/Mediabase chart this week.
“Miss Me More” is the first chart-topping single from a female artist in country music in 15 months. The last time a woman held the top spot was in February 2018 when Ballerini’s hit “Legends” reached No.1.
“Whether it’s a partner, friend, colleague, situation, or chapter of life, sometimes we lose a piece of ourselves to someone,” Ballerini shares. “This song is all about choosing to spend our energy in a way that lets us be the best version of ourselves for the right people – when they come along. I’m so proud that this song and message got the megaphone of Country radio. Thank you so much for this #1!”
To celebrate the achievement, Ballerini and several of her gal pals rented a pedal tavern and hit up downtown Nashville on Sunday. The Tennessee native documented the experience on her Instagram. Her husband, fellow country artist Morgan Evans, took a break from CMA Fest to join in on the fun.
Speaking of CMA Fest, Ballerini is set to co-host the upcoming three-hour CMA Fest television special alongside Thomas Rhett and Bobby Bones. The show will air Sunday, August 4 at 8/7c on ABC.
