Throughout the track, the finds the eight-time Entertainer of the year drawing from real experiences and raw emotions that people can relate to, something he has done in his career since the very beginning. Chesney shares that what made him fall in love with the song is the narrative that centers around the moments in life that are often overlooked yet produce some of the brightest moments and unparalleled joy in people’s lives.

“When I heard ‘Take Her Home,’ I just laughed,” Chesney says of the song. “It was everything life is made of in less than four minutes. It’s true, honest and all the stuff that’s easy to forget. All those details and little moments? The deep cut Cheap Trick, the black-and-pink suitcase in the back of the truck, a 7 pound, 5 ounce baby? That’s what makes these kinds of life changes what they are. And it’s funny: no matter what stage you’re in, you really are always scared. That’s how you know it’s gonna be worth it.”
Celebrating The Small Moments In Life
According to a recent press release, “Take Her Home” is reminiscent of the journey of life’s different stages that are put on display in the country star’s 2003 chart-topper, “There Goes My Life.” Overall, his latest release depicts the rollercoaster of relationships while touching on the experiences that have already been had, hopeful plans for the future and a reminder that “sometimes God paints life like a dream…”
“It’s amazing how simple figuring life out can be,” Chesney continued. “I look around, and I see people in every state of this song every day. It’s part of the miracle of being alive. Even when it’s not happening to you, it’s happening to someone you love – whether your friend, a brother or sister, co-worker – and that feeling comes right back. I can’t wait to hear people singing this one back to us, because it’s going to be one of those moments. I just know.”
Impacting Country Radio On November 10
Chesney went on to say that after hearing this tune for the first time, he knew it had to be the next song to come from his already impressive discography. Alongside the storyline, the sounds of acoustic and electric guitars align with the fell-good melody in a way that Chesney feels will be the perfect addition to his collection of songs.
“Every now and then, you find a song that just feels right,” Chesney offers. “There’s an honesty about life that you can’t just churn out. Finding songs that ring true? When you hear one, you grab it – and that’s a lot of how this song happened. We were trying to decide what to lead with, and someone sent me this demo… and I knew. No more discussion. We had the song – and a great time turning it into a record. Real life? There’s nothing like it.”
Fans can have a first listen to the fresh release as it impacts radio at midnight on Nov. 10. It will also be available via digital and streaming services at the same time.
Kenny Chesney Is Hitting The Road In 2024
The news of “Take Her Home” comes hot on the heels of Kenny Chesney’s major touring announcement. Beginning next Spring, Chesney will make his return to stadiums for his Sun Goes Down 2024 headlining tour.
This upcoming trek is named after his multiple-week No. 1, “When the Sun Goes Down,” which also appears as the title of his eighth studio album in 2004.
“I wanted a name that suggested – obviously – when all the good stuff starts to happen. The one thing I’ve learned about No Shoes Nation and these stadium shows is they start the good times early and they just keep it going,” Chesney says of his 2024 tour name. “But we all know, when the sun goes down, that’s when people really get loose and enjoy themselves.”
Special Guests Include Megan Moroney, Zac Brown Band & More
The warm weather anthem was originally recorded with fellow country singer/songwriter Uncle Kracker, who has been tapped to join Chesney as a special guest on the tour. Also appearing on the run will be Megan Moroney and Zac Brown Band. Plus, according to a recent press release, there are a few other major surprises in store as well.
Presented by Blue Chair Bay® Rum, the run will officially launch on April 20, 2024 at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium. He will continue to bring his talent to stadiums across the country before wrapping things up on August 23 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.
Tickets for his 2024 tour will go on sale on Friday, Nov. 17. For more information, visit Kenny Chesney’s official website HERE.
