Lady A is introducing their 10th studio album in an incredibly raw and vulnerable way. Today, Oct. 28, the trio surprised fans by releasing the first taste of their milestone project, “Bigger Picture.”

Fans have come to know that the group is no stranger to putting their hearts and personal moments on display through their music, as they have been doing so for the past two decades. With today’s release, they take that responsibility one step further with a Jay Joyce-produced track gave them a feeling of hope that needed to be shared with the world.

Lady A admits they had no intention of releasing new music this year. Instead, they were focused on touring and recording songs for their upcoming album. But along the way, they received the demo for “Bigger Picture,” penned by Trannie Anderson, Devin Dawson, Paul Sikes and Andy Albert.

“The day before we went into the studio to finish up our next record, this song was sent to Hillary. We felt its message so deeply and knew it needed to be on the next record, so we cut it the next day,” explains Lady A’s Dave Haywood.

Just one week later, the song would take on an entirely new meaning for the group when Charles Kelley shared the news of his blood cancer diagnosis. Suddenly, the lyrics about trusting God’s plan, even when life doesn’t go as planned, became especially personal as the trio faced a new chapter of uncertainty.

“God’s timing in allowing this song to find us and the message behind it is truly carrying us right now. We can’t help but think there are more people who might need to hear it too. We trust there’s a bigger picture,” Haywood added.

In a new video shared to Instagram, Kelley revealed that this is “one of my top five favorite vocals from Hillary,” and it’s easy to see why. Her powerful voice radiates throughout the track, as the three of them come together in a set of stirring harmonies while they acknowledge how difficult it can be to understand why certain things happen, whether it be heartbreak, loss, illness or anything else life can bring.

The core message is that even though we can only see a small portion of the picture, God sees the bigger picture and has a plan. The lyrics offer a sense of hope in the belief that while you might be wondering why so many prayers feel unanswered in the moment, the truth is there’s more to the story than what we can see.

They sing, “It’s hard to believe it when all that we’re seeing/ Is one little frame at a time/ We all have our version of our picture perfect/ But He has one better in mind/ There’s days when I doubt it, got questions about it/ But God knows I gotta believe/ He’s painting a bigger picture for me.”

“So special how this song kind of came about. It found us for sure,” Kelley added before sharing that today is a “good day” amid his ongoing treatment.

The DIAMOND-certified and GRAMMY Award-winning group is next set to take the stage with the launch of their THIS WINTER’S NIGHT TOUR 2026 on December 10 at Northfield Park Racino in Northfield, OH. The holiday run is expected to be filled with plenty more spirited performances and heartfelt moments as they ring in the season with fans across major cities like New York, NY, and Greensboro, NC, before returning home on December 21 with two shows at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN.
